Dear owner, I'm interested with cerato.
May I know how powerful it is for a 1.6 version? My driving pattern would be city driving mostly, but will travel highway from kl to jb occasionally. May I know how was the performance when hill climbing like genting or overtaKing 8n highway with 4 or 5 adult? Thx and hope you may help to clear my doubt |

QUOTE(dinozilla @ Mar 20 2017, 03:54 PM) good enough to make the car moving...if u wan gassy acceleration, this is not the car you want... Yes, very well said. It depends on what the driver expects from the car. By all means , 1.6L is NOT under-power, it is sufficient for normal commuting and to majority of owners, 1.6L engine is sufficient and meets their budget of a C segment car.of coz shifting to lower gear helps, but u will need a good rpm for that... 2adults is ok, 5 would be tougher... slow move to genting not an issue, u wan speed like those taxi, forget this However, they are those who demand power and higher torque , presumably because of your driving preference or needs (lots of passengers, hilly terrain, always in a rush to go places), then go for the 2.0L. To know what you need, please go for a test drive. Only then, you will know what you really need. Just my 2cents. |

QUOTE(dinozilla @ Mar 20 2017, 03:54 PM) good enough to make the car moving...if u wan gassy acceleration, this is not the car you want... I see, let's put it like this,of coz shifting to lower gear helps, but u will need a good rpm for that... 2adults is ok, 5 would be tougher... slow move to genting not an issue, u wan speed like those taxi, forget this I'm currently persona 1.6mt owner, I felt far more satisfy with the power of it. Will I fill the same with the power of 1.6 cerato? I expected it will give me the same power since it have more torque with heavier chassis... Any ex persona owner can comment with it? =) |

I actually tested the 1.6 version for pre face-lift (2013 model) n the face lift version (2016) n i found the face lift version seem to have higher acceleration. New Ecu setting? New gear ratios? However, they are those who demand power and higher torque , presumably because of your driving preference or needs (lots of passengers, hilly terrain, always in a rush to go places), then go for the 2.0L.
