QUOTE(Buydirect @ Mar 20 2017, 04:55 PM) Yes, very well said. It depends on what the driver expects from the car. By all means , 1.6L is NOT under-power, it is sufficient for normal commuting and to majority of owners, 1.6L engine is sufficient and meets their budget of a C segment car. I actually tested the 1.6 version for pre face-lift (2013 model) n the face lift version (2016) n i found the face lift version seem to have higher acceleration. New Ecu setting? New gear ratios? However, they are those who demand power and higher torque , presumably because of your driving preference or needs (lots of passengers, hilly terrain, always in a rush to go places), then go for the 2.0L. To know what you need, please go for a test drive. Only then, you will know what you really need. Just my 2cents. Btw is there any center that i can test drive this 2.0l version? I'm in penang |

QUOTE(absoluterudy @ Mar 20 2017, 07:44 PM) I see, let's put it like this, well im a persona 1.6 auto owner . n i find the power is ok. btw i got some data for persona gear vs cerato gears (see links below), n i find that cerato 6 gear ratios r so much "powerful". well if the acceleration of a 1.6 engine at gear ratio 2.8 (persona) is ok, then with gear ratio 4.4(cerato) will be much better I'm currently persona 1.6mt owner, I felt far more satisfy with the power of it. Will I fill the same with the power of 1.6 cerato? I expected it will give me the same power since it have more torque with heavier chassis... Any ex persona owner can comment with it? =) http://www.melbournecityproton.com.au/persona_elegance.html preview.thenewsmarket.com/Previews/kiam/DocumentAssets/271315.doc This post has been edited by MechaLEE: Mar 20 2017, 11:43 PM |

urm, i just read few days ago that there is a global recall (few million cars, even in Korea homeland itself) for hyundai / kia cars due to engine issues. Will it affect us ?

QUOTE(Buydirect @ Apr 10 2017, 12:15 PM) From one report that I read, basically only 2.4 GDI engine and 2.0 Theta Turbo engine affected. Current new Optima, Cerato are all using Nu Engine already and we don't use 2.0 turbo engine in Malaysia. means those other engines like the 1.6 Cerato is ok ? gamma engine for malaysia versionPlease check my PM. Thanks |

QUOTE(Netto Hikari @ Oct 8 2018, 12:33 AM) guys, wanted to ask. any1 change the stock rim 17' to 16'? need some views on this as the cost of tyre will be lower. how often do u change ur tyres? yearly ? or 2-3 yrs? 4yrs? if 3+ yrs then dont bother. maintain as stock.also if u change ur rims, u need to check if the disc brake calipers can fit with smaller rim. cause if the disc brake calipers r big, u still need a bigger rim for that gap between wheel n brake caliper |

guys, i saw this service schedule for the 1.6l model, it says at the 60k km, need to change v-ribbed belt. but at 80k or 100k it didnt mentioned about the timing belt set.. means this car is using timing chain n no need to change ? how to check the condition?
how many belts / chains there r in this car ? what items r being controlled by this v-belt? This post has been edited by MechaLEE: Dec 28 2018, 12:29 AM |
