I gave up on 1-300 sometime ago. Even if you have plenty of evidence, it will just go in one ear and out the other anyway since you don't even know if they are writing it down.

I still think it's more worthwhile to gather all your evidence - traceroutes, performance comparison and the like - and send an email to a senior supervisor, stating clearly that it is being CCed to the CEO... and maybe even state that a hardcopy snailmail will be sent to the CEO as well.

Regardless, what I really found offensive was the fact that TMnet have been telling people to go speak to AT&T directly.

Whoever said that should be b****slapped.

In any case, if you really want to rile things up, you could go but 1 lot of Telekom shares. That will grant you access to their next shareholder meeting and give you the right to get to the mike and ask the management 'very specific things' wink.gif

Conflicting reports from two friends who are back home now...

Bukit Damansara - 700-850 latencies.. Still not good, but playable
TTDI - still in the mid 2000s

Not sure about the likelihood that they may indeed be fixing it one area at a time.

I'll be making my way to clickers Kelana Jaya this Saturday. Anyone would like to join ?

No, I'm not rioting biggrin.gif

Edit: I have a free trial for North American Lineage 2 to give away. It requires a credit card for confirmation - ends May 1. 200ms ping.

Frankly, I'd take half the day off tomorrow and go to Cyberjaya and ask for Baharum Salleh.

Actually, take the whole day off... you'd probably need it to describe all the problems wink.gif

Nah, I'm not expecting the CEO to roll up his sleeves and resolve the issue. I just want to see someone in a sufficiently authoritative position who will get someone with enough IT-savvy that can understand what I'm saying.

As for a visit to Clickers, I went to the Damansara Utama one two days' ago. Nobody with enough IT know-how there to understand what I'm saying. Mentioning 'traceroutes', 'latencies', etc. drew blank looks from them... as I expected.

Heck, I work close to Menara Maybank, so I've been going down to Telekom Bukit Mahkamah every chance I get, but they seem adamant that the problem is TMnet's, not theirs.

@Xeo

Heck! why not.. it can't hurt! Just 10 minutes down the LDP for me anyway.

It will have to be after 11am on Saturday, though. I have a swimming class to conduct from 9 to 10:30.

Streamyx just called *surprise surprise* and asked me to troubleshoot with the technician. I told them I'll call back and do it tonite coz I'm leaving now. Don't think it'll help, but at least somebody DID take action based on my report I sent in 3-4 days ago.

Remember to ask him to bring his OWN laptop and modem when he goes over to your place. That way, he won't have an excuse that your PC or modem is malfunctioning.

And if he tells you that it's congestion on the international link, show him that a simple dial-up connection works better wink.gif

Good luck!

It's a new problem to everybody else EXCEPT us.

It seems everybody, including the people on 218.*, 60* and even the 1515 dial-ups on 219.92.* has hopped on our bandwagon.

Interesting how the level of solidarity amongst Malaysian broadband users goes up when it's no longer just someone else's problem. wink.gif

Trip to Clickers will still be necessary if regular service resumes for everybody else except those of us stuck on 219.95.*

The thing is, it may be down because they are fixing OUR 4 week old problem. However, like diswasher said, hopefully when they do fix the NEW problem, the OLD one will revert back to normal.

Oh Im confused, please make sense out of this someone biggrin.gif

Well, here's what I posted in the thread at the Streamyx forum below...

QUOTE
Optimistically
Telekom and TMnet will take the opportunity to fix their routing tables and the gateway (MYgate?) pathing. Everything becomes well again, and the weekend gaming orgy can proceed.

Pessimistically
This will the last straw that broke the camel's back. Internet provision in Malaysia sinks to a new low.
And yes, I hope it goes back to normal for us as well after this... and in time for the weekend.

It's no fun hanging around in IF looking at auctions and washing mooncloth every four days like I've been doing lately.

There's Scholomance to finish and Rakh'likh to kill!!

I'm not.. which is why I've made alternate plans for the weekend..

So umm, anybody want to donate something for a return air ticket for me and my PC to the States for the weekend? I'm not unreasonable and expecting First Class or anything. Economy will be fine biggrin.gif

But seriously, I suppose this will be a good weekend to work on and finish up my borang cukai taksiran sendiri and then do some shopping at IKEA.

I understand MYLoca in addition to being the gateway used by premium subscribers, is also used for critical concerns like embassies, the military, arge corporations, etc.

As such, I think it's totally out of the question that they would consider allowing all the pr0n and warez downloaders to flood their system tongue.gif

"Ekuse me sir, can I use your system to download Naruto ah?"
"No!"
"Aiya! Why so bad wan?'"

Frankly, I blame the murlocs!

They got tired of being killed repeatedly by trash-talking orcs, so they snapped the cable to get some respite.

Will pay for teh tarik ice for whoever wants to come over to my place and dis/reconnect until I get something other than 219.95.*

Meanwhile, I'll be watching Astro tongue.gif

Really don't have to patience to sit there for half an hour clicking buttons, which is why I asked if someone could come up with an automated script to do so.

teh tarik only, oit give set item la, teh tarik ais and roti canai...heheh but would be great if u "post"  the auto-script if u get it lah...5 more days come on!!

Aiya! sit there press button only mah? not hard at all.

But since I'm generous, oklah! teh tarik and roti canai tongue.gif

In any case, call it a gut feeling, but I don't think 20th of April is going to solve anything. By the time TMnet gets round to doing the rerouting that they need to do, it'll be the 21st.. and guess what? 21st is a public holiday. 22nd Friday, they will be too lazy to work since it's one day from the weekend.

So there you go, you'll be lucky if the lag spikes in Azeroth subside by the evening of the 25th tongue.gif

You know what?

'Technically', TMnet didn't inform us that there is still outstanding repair work to be done on the APCNII, which is due to complete by the 20th - remember, we got that info from REACH, NOT TMnet.

So, 'technically', we are entitled and am completely justified to harass them through 1-300 and/or Clickers to ask them why everything isn't back to normal yet despite them telling us that everything should be now.

Just a thought...

*gasp* Could it be that the line has been restored, and the current lag is due to the server itself with everybody ganking their brain's out?

Fingers and toes crossed... Tonight would be a good night for an extended session. No work tomorrow.

That said, you probably wouldn't be able to tell until about 5 or 6pm, when most of the 'new patch with PvP fever' has subsided and all the l337d00ds have gone to bed or getting ready to go to work.

Let's be brutally honest here... The L2, MxO and Planetside servers have significantly lower populations.

As has been mentioned numerous times before, WoW is largely a victim of its own success.

If it's bad, I think it'll just be possible for me to hop down to Steelgrill Depot to get my pimped-out epic mount.
