Hi all. Great to know so many CFA candidates here. Im just wondering if any of you have bought the financial calculator from amazon.com?
I just did a survey and found out that the calculator from amazon is cheaper than we see in Msia, if im not mistaken(No experience buying stuff from the site), Texas Instruments BA II Plus is priced below RM 100 (included shipping) where you may find it at around RM 150 in Msia. I understand that the warranty might not be valid if i get it through the website. I do not know if it is true or i miscalculate some hidden costs. I'd like to hear from you guys. Any input is much appreciated. Good luck to those who are taking June Paper This post has been edited by glengoh: Feb 12 2011, 01:56 AM |

Dude, the price you see doesn't include international shipping and handling. Free Shipping is for US domestic only.
Price at amazon (including international shipping) will only be cheaper if you bought a single item that cost about rm300 in Malaysia. That is of course if there is also substantial discount given by Amazon |

QUOTE(edwintan87 @ Feb 13 2011, 04:34 AM) just my personal opinion ya~ BA11 better~~ but as long as it's a financial calculator which is fine enough~~ ^^.. Could you explain further why BAII is better? Heard that BAII required more steps for the same calculation as compared to HP. But HP is a little slower and the design truly reflects its origin of an 80s gadget. |

80s gadget
As far as i know, you could get two BAII at the price of one HP and this would the reason Im going for BAII, if its not much different in term of functions. Hehehehe This post has been edited by glengoh: Feb 13 2011, 06:20 PM |

QUOTE(glengoh @ Feb 12 2011, 01:12 PM) I'm using BAII Plus Pro. It's quite handy. I've never used HP 12C before.Added on February 17, 2011, 8:26 pm QUOTE(Valentineday @ Feb 16 2011, 07:10 PM) Are you going for Dec 2011? Cos if you're going for June, I think it could be a little too much to bear. I'm studying at Noesis Ex Ed, going for June. This post has been edited by fino_abama: Feb 17 2011, 08:26 PM |

Anyone here keen for a copy of photostated version CFA Level1 Schweser 2011 version reference set (5 books)? Drop me a PM, I have asked my friend to get a photocopy version of this book for me while I'm in Malaysia but did not manage to bring it back to Singapore in time.
I'm working in Singapore now so I guess I would not be able to go back and bring it back any soon. Thus, the best alternative is to sell the copy in Malaysia and try to get one done over here I guess. Cheers. |

Hi guys,
Thinking of taking it myself. Self study tho'. I read that you will need 500 hours of study and I am thinking of taking in Dec while working. So, my calculations are - Every day for 6 months - 2.7 (3) hours of study or every weekend - 9.7 (10) hours of study! Does that sound right? I did not do accounting at all before tho'.. All I have is a keen interest in Economics. Will I need more time then? Thanks in advance... This post has been edited by joecashflow: Mar 8 2011, 12:15 AM |
