We cannot overstate the profound effects that coronavirus is having on our families, our communities, our businesses, the financial markets, and the global economy. As the pandemic continues to intensify, with no certainty of when it will abate, CFA Institute has made the unprecedented decision to postpone the June 2020 CFA Exam administration globally.
Your registration will be transferred to one of the next two exam administrations. We are working with our partners around the globe to define exactly when those next two administrations will occur; however, we anticipate offering every level in December 2020. As soon as dates are confirmed, we will contact you via email with more information and allow you to select your preferred date. You can expect to receive further communication no later than 8 May. https://www.cfainstitute.org/en/about/press...ute-coronavirus damn man i just want to get this over with and now this |

Hi all. I have a masters degree in Engineering (CGPA:3.4).
Wanting to enter the financial field but can't seem to jump in it easily. Will CFA help me? I understand it is extremely tough and would require like 300-350 hours of self-study. Where do i register for the exam and is it possible to study everything by December when the conduct the exams? |

Have also been applying since February but nothing has materialised since then. Its hard to enter pure IB - M&A, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, they dont hire fresh grad. Even if they do, they hire management associates and chances of rotating into IB is slim. But keep trying, dont want to let that CFA go to wasteAnd look, IB is not what it used to be. 20 years ago its a cash cow and people are merging and raising money via banks left right center but fast forward in 2020? Margins are thin and competitive, bonus cut to 4 digits instead of 5. Gone are the days for IB to make top dollars, although they still make decent money than most industries, with great exits. Im an ex-IB so I know. This post has been edited by Oklahoma: Jun 4 2020, 11:40 AM |

I'm not exactly a fresh grad. had 6 years working experience in the engineering field before persuing my Masters in Engineering. Was also working part-time and full time while I was completing my masters. But somewhere in the middle of all that, I think I found my interest in investment and Finance. Some say its too late to get into a new path but I'm still hoping. Whats so interesting about investment and finance? You know you could practice investment without joining IB right? Just trade on the side with your current full time job. |

Ahh, something I would have liked to hear but am a bit skeptical on it as well. It might take a while for Malaysian companies to ride on the big data trend with the needed capital investment into infrastructure which would support it.But we already see a trend here in SEA like Grab, Shopee, Lazada, etc etc. Programming Data Science Machine Learning Artificial Intelligence Anyway, having been in the IB industry, what are your thoughts on careers that integrate finance knowledge together with data tech like machine learning/AI? Are there such career paths in Malaysia or would it take real long before it comes here? Interested to hear being a soon-to-be finance graduate that has been messing around with Python & machine learning libraries at home. |
