Anyone managed to change the "wm size 1920x1080" command on their STB? I get WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS exception.
Do you guys knows that the EC6108V8 set it to 1280x720 resolution by default? Can you guys confirm that on your STB?

Yes, you are correct. I can confirm this with trying to play 1080p video on YouTube app and it just not not playing the video but can hear the audio in the background only.
But this contradicts with the option in the Settings page where we can select 1080p@60, 1080p@50, 1080i@60, etc...

fruitie, There is no option for me to choose 1080p on YouTube app also (I'm assuming you are using the default YouTube app that comes with the box?). Mine is using YouTube for Android TV.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 30 2016, 11:04 AM) No, I'm not using the default app that came with the box. I'm using the one shared earlier by fellow forummer. No selection for 1080p, highest is only 720p. Ok. Then that shows us that the STB IS really only up to 720p. Sigh...very sad. The MALI400 can support 1080 easily, but why hardcode it to only 720p on their Android 4.4.2?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 30 2016, 11:35 AM) Well, it is free stuff, don't ask for a lot. I'm quite happy with it already. I'm more sad that it comes with KitKat, even JellyBean is fine with me... Now cannot install stuff on external storage... Yeah, just be contend with what is given "free". I am happy that it allows me to play movies in FullHD using MX Player Pro frin my exhdd connected to the USB port provided. Save me some $$$ on buying external player.

Why the KODI 16.x nightly builds does not work on our STB? I looked at the content inside the nightly build APK and compare that with the official stable release of KODI 16.1 from PlayStore, the difference I can see is that the nightly build uses Python2.7, whereas KODI 16.1 official release uses Python2.6.
Can anyone here tell me if you have luck installing the nightly builds?

Man, so many fixes included in the nightly build and it's working nicely on our STB!

QUOTE(aja1783 @ Sep 22 2016, 04:12 PM) if u r using unifi and want to use the hyptv apps, yes. lan port of the box is dedicated for hyptv apps. need to connect to router lan port 4. if u r using streamyx, then should be ok. Hypptv app need lan port? Not WiFi? The Lan port you referring to is the one behind the STB box?

QUOTE(aja1783 @ Sep 22 2016, 06:13 PM) yes. unifi user need to use lan cable in order to watch hyptv. router port 4 is dedicated to hyptv. if just want to watch utube, showbox, kodi etc can just use WiFi. or can also plug the lan to other then port 4. Hyptv everywhere no need dedicated lan. Huh? r u sure? HyppTV Everywhere (tablet) side load the apk works for me here with WiFi.

Actually our STB can playback 1080p...using KODI will give you that. Earlier on I tot it can't do 1080p, but later, I found that is not the case.
