Hi, All just updated my to this EC6108V8 STB, complained to 100 that my old box got problem and after 2 days they sent a technician to change the box. The old box still have warranty so the customer service says the replacement is FOC.

On the other hand, read through this thread and managed to get the Play Store working and installed some apps via downloaded apks. China Live TV app like TV plus and Xiao Wei TV is working well with this box as I installed them via Shafa Market.

Iflix is working well and the box is playing 720p videos (using VLC or MX Player) without issue from USB drive without problem. Not sure about 1080p videos though.

Tried installing Youtube which is playable but the UI is not loading correctly, can anyone advise which version is working well with this box?

you'll need to sideload it, i just download the latest version of iflix.apk
on the first run you just ignore without login...on 2nd run once it detects that you are on unifi...it will proceed without the login screen (1 year free iflix)

i tried watching flash and arrow ...and it worked fine.

You'll need to log in to playstore and install ES File Explorer first, with this you can access apk files on your USB drive.
If there's error after u sign in to Playstore, you'll need to clear cache + data app for Playstore and reboot the setup box.

Out of curiosity do TM provide any firmware update for this box?
If i am using any IPTV, any possibility of them blocking it with firmware update?

Thinking of subscribing to IPTV package and ditch Asstro.

Can you navigate AOTG with the HyppTV remote? I found it quite troublesome. I plug in a mouse to use AOTG.

Now I am thinking to terminate my multi-room subscription, and purely us AOTG in my room for Astro.

yes bro (i know u are not) have fun....but i am feeling that it feels laggy while using AOTG, but can't complain la......else get a better box...

while navigating in the app feels like not smooth....but watching the channels and even movies are fine.

Quite a numbers of channels available actually...and there's some VODs.
I find it adequate for me to cancel my multi-room subscription.

It doesn't follow the full Astro subcriptions, limited but not only a few channels la.

Free IPTV?? Which one? Good content?? I want to try can?? What IPTV apps you have in your box...kindly share bro (i know u are not)..haha...

Just using it to watch HyppTV which is also boring, most of the time also watching stuff on Ruby Pack only.

You can check the version you installed. Dont get the latest 1.3.8 version, use the 1.2.7 version. With this version you can have previews just like Android TV.
I tried installing the latest it wont work, but found out from some posts earlier that the the older version is working.

But something is missing from this version of youtube, I dont seems to be able to access the channel from the current video that I am watching.
For example I am watching one clip, but i would like to check what this user / channel have uploaded but I dont seems to find it. Is there a way to do it?

When i tried to watch the same live stream on PC or other TV box it's okay.

Maybe it's time to switch app or even switch box...haha

Yupes...they will replace for free if still under contract. I complained that the old box random reboot with watching, obviously it's not.
But they still changed it for me
