I think what the technician meant was that Hypptv by default is set to work through the wired connection. Wifi on the STB can still be used. My advice, for simple media played through USB? Its okay. Anything more? Better get a proper media player.

Yes, as I explained earlier. The default way is thru a cable, but some have got it to work over wifi.. It's a bit of a hassle but it can be done. Can't remember the steps and couldn't be bothered to figure it out either cuz the box is crap and I rarely watch Hypptv, even if I do, the device is just beside the router. Alternatively, you can get powerline adapters and connect across distances. Provided the wiring is on the same phase... Else no choice, run that cable.

Login to your router
Settings > Internet > Advanced Settings
You will see VLAN bridge settings

By default IPTV is set on LAN port 4, the rest are internet
Change it so your wifi is set to IPTV.
Connect your stb to wifi.

Impossibru.. smile.gif  Ditch that hardware and get a better device for such.

You're saying it's a hardware issue. Which one is the limiter: the CPU or the HDMI port? Or something else?

What is the better device that's below the price of a NUC at RM700?

By hardware I was also referring to its software.. There are even <RM300 devices that do a far better job than this STB. I use the Minix Neo U1. Both it and most other decent flagship devices are within your budget. Don’t simply take my word for it. Do checkout the dedicated thread other options. Make sure to read the page one and browse through the later posts. We share the good stuff and it’s mostly personal experiences.

you can still use homeplug to connect the cable as long as it in the same phase.

The other TM supplied router. FYI, the model name is D-Link DIR-850L, the AC1200 is a tag telling about it’s theoretical max speeds.
