very likely discrepancy between what system is actually behaving (i.e. immediate category change on the tagging) vs what it suppose to take effect (on Sep).

u can test this theory: try swipe small amount for Grocery. see if it's tagged as Grocery in your August/September statement.


nevertheless, dispute this with CS and followup closely. since your category change maintenance fee already stated "EFF Sep15", then it's very clear in b&w.

selecting Grocery category for Wise's 10% cashback doesnt guarantee your eligibility for 30% Cashback.

one way is to help ur friends/family/collegues to reload their TNG card (under Grocery category).

"offer" them 5% rebate lor. Still better than they reload at ATM/petrol stations using ca$h and got nothing back. win-win for both.

omg, these cs are bad... or the Wise's cashback eligibility is confusing

Follow these general practices (my preference anyway):

1) Ensure at least 10 times of ≥RM50 transactions. Any spending, any category, anywhere, anytime. If possible, use within your selected categories, but NOT mandatory.
2) Ensure swipes are within calendar month (1st day to last day), however recommended to stop 2-3 days earlier.
3) Each swipe is usually posted in 2-3 days time. Hence (2) above.
4) With RM100 maximum cashback, the recommended spending amount per month is RM1,000. If you are skillful in your spending, you can achieve max cashback with just RM985 total spending.
5) Be extra diligent in monitoring your swipes. Use apps or Excel or monitor from your SMS notifications.
6) Fill up the SMS notification form, and set to RM1. No choice, gotta manually submit form at any HLB branch. Oh BTW, tell them to fax the form to HQ. Most of them wouldn't know what to do with the form anyway.
