it depend how much they eat, 2 gerbils, i give 1.5 table spoon per meal... when next feeding if got left over, i throw it on bedding.

Er......i think i got some problem here. I just found out that the 2 gerbils that I've bought previously is diff sex!!!! last time when i check, no balls (maybe haven mature), but afte a month (last nite) i check, one got balls......
i cant seperate them since they need companion and i cant buy another pair diff sex so that male wif male, female wif female (no money and housemate gonna kill me coz lots of rodents liao) So i think I'll let them be.
My plan is after 1st birth, male pups will stay wif dad, female pups will stay wif mum.
But might hv another litter since they'll mate just after female gave birth.
if really got 2nd litter, pups will be given to my frens or for adoption.
Headache.........

what u can do is... get a cage.. around $10 only... pj old town the fish shop got. when u see the mum is around to birth, cage up the male one. but put the cage inside their tank, so they still remember each others but canot mate. when the male pups r 2 mth old u can seperate them. but again u can hv all female or all male in one liter.. n also u will hv more gerbils to feed. it will be the same as u go buy one more male n female home...

but my tank is a 1.5 ft tank wor, can fit in the cage meh........
If separated them using cage, meaning the female has to take care of the pups alona lah.....and the male need to be cage for 2 months wor, kesian lah. If separate like this they won get depress meh???

can, but temp only until the pup 2 mths u get an other tank loh. as long as they see n smeel each others not too bad, of cos kesian, unless u go buy 2 more now loh. cos since u say money is a problem, better u do it or u wil hv endless trouble..
