QUOTE(Palmwalker001 @ Jul 17 2015, 08:49 AM) Yup Utar Student Council should pressure Utar to ask Mpkj to build pedestrian walkway from SL6/SL7/SL8 to Utar for the safety of students and residents. The best way of communication and negotiation is to have an effective consultation involving various stakeholders, e.g. Sg Long residents, UTAR Student council, UTAR Management, MPKJ Councillors, ADUN & MP for the consituency, and SILK representative to discuss about issues which arises after the influx of 9000 UTAR students and 1000 staff. There are also some old issues which need to be iron out and the best way is thru community engagement. There are pathways from Palm Walk to Taming Mutiara 2 Mpkj only need to build from there to SL 11 commercial area. |

I have seen students walking dangerously by the road side without proper pathway. Accident can happen anytime. Prevention is better than cure. Normally authorities will only take action if there are mishaps. Sad, but true.

QUOTE(HarpArtist @ Jul 17 2015, 11:38 AM) Yeah that's true! but with 9000 students in Sg Long and no proper pathway can be really dangerous. I have seen students zig-zagging on the road and they almost got hit by cars. they also pose risks to motorists. well, if the ADUN and MP is willing to do something about this, I believe then Sg Long can be an exemplary area for other areas to follow suit. Kak Wan will be happy! Haha |

QUOTE(HarpArtist @ Jul 17 2015, 11:55 AM) hows the pathway situation at sunway? the part with all the unis i mean. i know from experience the subang side (inti/taylorsmet) is approx same as sg long. There are proper pedestrian walkways at surrounding Sunway University. there is also a canopy walkway for their students from campus to Sunway Mall. Sunway group is really far sighted and think about the safety of their stakeholders. Well, Sunway has a piece of land in Sg Long, so maybe they will bring the canopy walkway ideas to here, linking Sunway Sg Long condos to all other important areas in Sg long. |

QUOTE(Palmwalker001 @ Jul 17 2015, 01:32 PM) No need involve so many parties just Utar n Mpkj will do. Walking pathway is the jurisdiction of Mpkj but Utar students council should start the ball rolling. Yeah, true also. But the more the merrier, as it ryhmes "bersatu kita teguh, bercerai kita roboh". it's easier to negotiate when there is unity in our proposal |
