134 x 67.2 x 9.4 mm and 133 gram.

Not too heavy but I like if the dimension are smaller
*
Not that sure of other phones smaller than Redmi 2 that provides good quality finishing.

hmm.gif If that's the case, ever thought of upgrading ur Note 3? Can consider Note 4 duos, LG G4 dual, LG G3 dual. All dual sim model. U can put both sim in the same phone. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Jul 5 2015, 01:14 AM)
Time to upgrade my wife's phone, she's currently using Note 2.

1. Brand
Any. No objection to Huawei, Xiaomi etc. if they fit 3. and 4. below. Of course the normal Samsung/Sony etc. is fine as well
2. Budget
2k, lower is of course better.
3. Specs
Camera 13MP or higher, storage space 32gb or (preferably) 64GB, 3GBRAM. 5+ inch screen. OIS preferable
4. What you need in the phone
First priority is good camera, second is storage space more than 16GB
After that, mainly a matter of value for money. For example if phone X is 2k and phone Y is 1k and the difference is not much, I prefer phone Y. Except in 2 criteria (camera, storage) stated above.

Currently considering Sony phones for camera purposes.
*
Based on ur budget, can go for flagships like Galaxy S6, Xperia Z3, LG G3.

For lower price, can go for Mi4, Honor 6 Plus or Honor 6. Both Mi4 and Honor 6 is using Sony IMX 214 camera sensor, which is quite good based on my naked eye. But of coz not as nice as S6's camera la.

Brand:Any except iphone
Price: RM 1k-2k
Spec:3gb ram or more, equal or more than 32gb internal storage,Min 5inch up to 6 inch
What i need in the phone: My first priority is Camera (have manual setting is advantage), good screen.

I prefer LG G3 but it dont have manual camera setting(32 second exposure), Nexus 6 quite ok, but how its camera performance? Right now in my mind is Oppo find 7, Can you suggest any phone to me? (second hand still ok if condition still good)

thx icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Galaxy S6 (focus manually, adjust exposure compensation and ISO, white balance too)

Xperia Z3 (Exposure Compensation, White balance, Metering, Image stabilization and ISO)

top up for LG G4.

Not sure bout other's manual mode. Some have manual mode, but even in manual mode, it has limited feature. hmm.gif

That's all good model.  Though it's all import model without official warranty.
Buying something with that price really need a good warranty for me.

And the stylus too.  Since I sometime use stylus need galaxy note line
*
Yea. That's the con. All import set, so warranty is with the shop that u purchased from.

If that's so, better continue to hunt for cheap secondary phone for ur sub line. smile.gif

QUOTE(sixshot @ Jul 5 2015, 04:16 PM)
budget around RM 700-800. Was thinking Mi4i or Lenovo Vibe x2. Which one is better?

Or any other suggestion?
*
Can also consider Honor 4X, Redmi Note, Padfone S. Padfone S at RM700+ is quite a good deal. Cons is the small battery. If u have a powerbank, then it'll be ok.

U can alo top up for Honor 6 or Mi4, more RAM and better processor.

QUOTE(myroy @ Jul 5 2015, 06:03 PM)
what ur opinion about nexus 6?
*
Never owned 1 before. So can't really comment much bout it. So I'm actually not quite sure of the camera performance. Maybe u can proceed to Nexus 6's thread to ask actual users how is the camera. nod.gif

What do you think of android smartwatch worth standalone phone function?
*
Do u mean android smartwatch that has calling function like Galaxy Gear S?

U can insert ur sim in the watch, but then it feels weird to use it for call function. And if ur environment bising, habis lah. laugh.gif U can use ur sim's data plan too i think. But then I'm not sure if anyone would enjoy web browsing with such small screen. hmm.gif

But then of coz everything comes down to different ppl having different preference. Some like to use their smartwatch as a standalone phone. nod.gif

Yes smartwatch with calling function.  Samsung keyboard autocorrect my spelling. Jaha

Well I don't think I can browse with small screen.  Only just for phone call to only one number.  Maybe sms, but dunno if it's too hard with small screen.

Call quality and loudspeaker is also an issue too

You think current android watch still not good enough for calling?
*
Hmm. Somehow i feel android's watch, especially those on android wear os are not designed to make phone call. It's more like a notification center, u can view ur sms or email without taking out ur phone. Or u can use voice to reply sms when u are driving. Or set up alarm using voice.

I dont think android smartwatch on android wear will venture into standalone smartwatch wif call function. hmm.gif but i could be wrong. Maybe next google i/o, google will announce native calling function on android wears. laugh.gif

hi guys..note 4 duos vs note 5 duos?
note 5 duos sme summore compared note 4 ap
price almost same

note 4 snap 805 quad 2.7 kraitz, microsd, 16gb internal, removble batt (?), 3gb ram
note 5 exynos quad 2.1 + 1.5, no microsd, 32gb internal, non-removble batt, 4gb ram
*
if u absolutely need the microsd, go for Note 4 Duos.

If not, Note 5 has better specs and more worth it.

Btw Note 5 Duos now got SME unit? Just checked lelong. import set only. Maybe I overlook at some other place.

btw note 5 specwise just extra ram, and octacore rite?

Yea. Note 5 better front cam.

And also the battery, Note 4 removable, Note 5 not. If u are d type that likes to buy a spare battery n exchange it when ur phone battery is gone, then Note 4 is a gud choice.

Well, if u really want the pure Android feel, Oneplus Two. But don't expect it to be flagship killer at that price. Not that cheap anymore and not that killer.

Honor 6, Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL, Meizu M2 Note. All support microsd up to 128gb.

As for custom rom, u might need to check out xda to see which custom rom they support.

Redmi Note 2 is better than Mi4i in terms of screen size. But in terms of processor, I would prefer the Snapdragon powered Mi4i.

U can also consider Mi4, Honor 6, Zenfone 2 (2GB RAM variant). Else u can top up for Vibe Shot and Zenfone 2 (32gb ROM, 4gb RAM variant) at RM1199.

May I know that in terms of processor, Honor 6 performs better ? compare with Mi 4i / Redmi Note 2 as Honor 6 is using it's in-house processor~
The main advantage i see in Honor 7 is the 3GB ram, which is attracting~
*
Honor 6's processor is comparable to snapdragon 800. U can head over to honor 6's thread to read more bout it. nod.gif

In terms of multitasking, more RAM is better. If possible go for 3gb RAM device. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(incuriousity @ Oct 19 2015, 03:42 PM)
Thanks but I just found this new phone. Oneplus X it also support 128 GB of card. I think I will go with that.
*
Yea. But it was juz announced recently. It'll take time for shops like directd to import them. Good choice if ur a flashaholic. thumbup.gif

Budget less than RM1.6k. Planning to get a good phone to last >3 years.

Requirements:
1) Smooth or lag-free, especially when switching between apps (FB, Whatsapp, Gallery, Browsing)
2) Good battery usage

Currently looking at Oneplus Two, Vivo X5Pro. Any other recommendations?
*
Within ur budget: Honor 7, Mi Note

top up for: LG G4 (original import set at 1799), Oneplus Two, Xperia Z3 (ori set at 18xx)

Mi 4i 2gb RAM, Honor 6 3gb RAM. I would pick Honor 6 for more apps to be in 'ready state' to be resumed. Plus Honor 6 has microsd support too.

In terms of smoothness, it's MIUI vs EMUI. Each is different, and also everyone's preference is different. For me, I'm bored with MIUI dy, so no more Xiaomi for me, unless there is AOSP rom to be flashed.

As for custom toms, check out

http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/374941-...or-the-honor-6/

http://en.miui.com/thread-138587-1-1.html

For the camera, Honor 6 uses Sony's IMX214 sensor, as for Mi 4i, it's not sure which sensor they use, it's stated as Sony/Samsung. Both front camera have this beautify feature for selfie user. But imo, better bring ur gf to digi/maxis store, and let her test out both's front camera.

in terms of processor, Redmi Note 2 is better. Resolution and camera are both very similar, u'll have to test both of them hands on in a shop to see which is better.

I think u can add , Alcatel Flash 2, Honor 4X, Lenovo P70 into ur consideration too. If u are ok with online purchase, can go to DirectD or Satugadget's website. nod.gif

Good day.

My mom is looking for a replacement phone and she's interested in getting an Android handset. We're looking for the best bang-for-your-buck on an RM1500 budget.
*
based on ur budget: Newer models are Zenfone 2 (4gb RAM variant), Honor 6 Plus, Honor 7, Vibe Shot, Mi4C (3gb RAM variant). If you don't mind older models, LG G Pro 2 & LG G3 (some shop still clearing stocks for these 2 phone)

top up a little for Xperia M5 dual, Mi Note

I would go for Honor 7 if I am in ur shoe. nod.gif Currently best bang for buck under 1.5k imho. If u got voucher code, can use Lazada to purchase it at 1.1k region. rclxms.gif

Honor 7 best bang for buck currently. Other than that, u can consider Zenfone 2 (4gb RAM variant), Mi4C

Device 1:
Since ur used to a Nexus device, I suggest u go for Moto G 2nd gen at RM699. Stock android feel. Cheaper choices would be Redmi 2 Enhanced (RM529), Honor 4C (RM569), Alcatel Flash 2 (RM549, coming soon). Alcatel Flash 2 looks quite stock android, but then it display is 5".

Device 2:
Redmi Note 4G ap set from directd at RM529. My dad is using this phone. So far so good. Got senior mode somemore, where they can make those icons bigger.

at that price point, Honor 7 is the best bang for buck. Cheapest LG G4 is at RM1799 (ap set by DirectD)

U can also consider Mi4C (3gb RAM, 32gb ROM version), but make sure u are getting the 1 with Sony camera sensor IMX258. So far there are only import set of Mi4C sold by shops.

I am thinking to get the note5...any alternative to compare with the note5 with the same price range? i got it for about 2500 from satu gadget
*
LG G4, Nexus 6. Basically u can go for top of the line phones from each brand dy. Or u can wait a little longer for Z5 Premium. But it will be more costly I think.

Mi4, Honor 6. Both has 3GB ram and is slightly above RM800. Difference is Mi4 do not support microsd, while Honor 6 supports. In terms of offline GPS, I think Mi4's Snapdragon would outperform Honor 6's Kirin chipset.

1.brand : any
2. Budget. 500-650max ( if i need to topup a bis to rm700 can be consider)
3. for specs i don't really need much since i will usually just use apps like whatsapp, facebook, etc .. sometimes i play simple games ( not coc or other complex games)
4. decent camera for taking gunplas/figures photos, long battery  life,if possible 5" screen and above
*
Honor 4X, Redmi Note 4G, Zenfone 2 Laser, Alcate Flash 2, Redmi Note 2 (import set by shop),

or u can wait for the official Redmi Note 2 by Xiaomi Malaysia. Coming soon. brows.gif

QUOTE(blueheaven @ Oct 29 2015, 11:20 AM)
Sorry for hijacking question. What's online or offline GPS?

Anyway, honor 6 GPS works very well, in general.
*
online GPS meaning those that requires data, like Waze, Google Maps. So it relies more on ur data connection.

offline GPS meaning those that can run without the usage of data, like Sygic, Papago. It only relies on the built in gps in the chipset processor.

what is the difference of redmi note 2 import set by shop  and the official one ?

import set are original sets too, but from other country.

import set - warranty by the shop that u purchase from, if anything happen to the phone, the shop technician will fix it for u.
ori set - warranty by Xiaomi Malaysia, can send for warranty in any Xiaomi Service Center in Malaysia. If anything happen to the phone, Xiaomi's technician will fix it for u.

For common problems, u might nid to refer to the honor 6 thread. It is a good buy, but better get it quick. With Honor 7 out now, Honor 6 is no longer in production i guess. Some shops might still have it.
