thanks bro for the prompt reply...
right now for the given budget i have 2 choice....
either buy a brand new/used phone or repair my s5 which will cost around 600-700...

if i were to buy a new phone...i might choose among redmi note2 / mi 4c...the difference is around 300bucks++
im in dilemma of these...
*
I suggest you to go with a new phone in case you felt that it is no longer useful enough. Otherwise, if you still feel that your phone still have hope, go with the first option (repairing).

Brand: Any (see below)
Budget: RM500 - RM800
Usage: Browsing, call, sms, whatsapp, etc... gaming is also a plus

*IMPORTANT - Brand must be from companies that have a decent or great Cyanogenmod support
My previous phones were iPhone 5 & Nokia Lumia 920, both have solid, smooth, stable OS & no bloats, plus the 920 is insanely indestructible, simply, they just work
I hate custom skins & bloats so I'll probably just flash CM out of the box so please recommend 😃
*
Stock Android? Xiaomi Mi 4 is your best bet for now (you need to add RM 49 in SatuGadget, but this should be the best for now). Another one would be Mi 4i- a refresh with Snapdragon 615 and has unofficial port for it (the latter has official port).

Sorry for hijacking question. What's online or offline GPS?

Anyway, honor 6 GPS works very well, in general.
*
Online GPS basically needs you to be online all the time, while offline GPS lets you to use GPS without internet: but you need to download the maps and the maps may not be available.

Redmi 2 prime you mean?

Redmi 2 Prime = Redmi 2 Enhanced. Only difference is that Redmi 2 Prime is made in India.

Thank you. Which one is better in term of heat?
*
I'm not too sure though: I haven't tested any of these before. But for a good performance-to-price ratio, the Lenovo K3 would be the best out of the three.

QUOTE(lowya @ Nov 9 2015, 12:28 PM)
how are these compared to Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 in terms of performance/price?
*
Not too comparable there. But if you buy the upgraded variant of the K3- K3 Note, this would make them somewhat comparable.

please suggest me a 4gb ram phone which is below 2k.
*
Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML, 4 GB RAM variant) and OnePlus Two. Bear in mind that both of them has Full HD/1080p screen compared to some other flagships that has Quad HD/1440p/2K.

No need to have 2k/4k screen, just want it to be smooth, the phone only will be use for normal video stream, fb, messaging. less game.
*
Then it would be okay enough. 4 GB of RAM makes a relatively smooth phone. Well, both of them will get Android 6.0.

hello guys, Between Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Enhanced, Meizu M2, Asus Zenphone C or Alcatel flash plus, which is best value for budget smartphone?
*
The Meizu M2 and the Alcatel Flash Plus makes a good all-rounder compared with the other phones around here. If pricing is a concern, you should go for the Redmi 2. Asus Zenfone C is the lowest of all of them, but still makes a good fight if you're comparing with some other offerings under RM 400.

Budget aside.

In terms of latest phones in the market right now... would you recommend ip6s,samsung s6 or xperia z5?
*
Xperia Z5 is totally out of question, contrary to the hype generated here. For that, you might choose which is better for you. If you need a stylish phone and yet make a good flagship, go with the S6. For a simple yet powerful device, go for the iPhone 6S.

the best smartfon for under400 for my son..

Best value-to-price under RM 400? Not too sure there because there's not too many of these out there. Xiaomi Redmi 2 is the best bet you can have right now. You can buy it via their official website unless you can't pay it via credit card (like my situation, my old-school dad wouldn't let me to use credit card as a payment). Otherwise, in case you couldn't buy it, I can recommend you Leagoo Lead 5 or Asus Zenfone C. Sure, there's a quite an amount of downgrades i.e: camera (5 MP compared to 8MP), networks (3G compared to 4G), screen (854 x 480 compared to 1280 x 720) and chipsets (32-bit compared to 64-bit). But I can tell you that any of these might make a relatively okay phone since it's entry-class.

QUOTE(z800r @ Nov 17 2015, 11:58 AM)
Guys...

Which one is better. Redmi note 2 or mi4i.. I got a coupon so that i can buy a mi4i at the same price of redmi note 2..

In terms of camera and specs, which one is better?

But if i buy mi4i with rm650, only can get the 16gb one. The 32gb one is not available for me to use the coupon. Only can get 16gb version. If i get the redmi note 2, i can put micro sd card, no problem. But i think memory is not really a problem. I used huawei only 8gb built in, combine with 8gb microsd, still got 1gb balance.

Also, i heard the heat issue of the mi4i.. Though they update to miui7, still got overheat issue.

So, to go with redmi note 2 or mi4i 16gb.. Mediatek vs snapdragon, the camera, the performance, heat issue. Worth it to get mi4i or just get the new redmi note 2..

Thanks
*
Most obvious winner would be the Redmi Note 2 on specs-on-sheet.

1) OPO / Honor 6+ / Mi Note / Z2/3
2) below 1.5k
3) good camera / good battery life / 4G LTE / less bloat ware

If you want almost no bloatware on your phone, it's better for you to go for OnePlus One or Mi Note.

Hi there. My dad really need to change his Samsung Galaxy S3. It really shows its age already because it was overheating a lot and also its battery life was quite short.

Brand: No specific preferences, but he don't really like Xiaomi.
Budget: RM 700 or below, if worth it maybe can top-up a little.
Specs: Screen of at least 5.0 inches or bigger, big battery, good processor.
What he need in his phone: He is not going to do any gaming there, because all he do with it was just to use Facebook, WeChat and WhatsApp. He also will be out most of the time, so big battery and a good battery endurance would make a good one for my dad. And also, he want his phone to have minimal lag and probably frills-free.

Currently I felt like Lenovo P70 seemed suitable for him. Is there any other recommendations for my dad? Let me know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

P.S: My dad didn't want to buy his phone online since he's quite old-schooled.
