The Myanmar government refuses to recognize the Rohingya term and the Rohingyas do not want to be known as Bengali migrants. They're both stubborn. If you're wondering why the Rohingya do not want to budge on that matter, it's because they need to be recognized as ethnic Burmese before being able to demand for autonomy. Otherwise, it'll just look like an invasion.

It's very messy. Both sides are at fault but I blame the Rohingyas more.

and you think myanmar gonna give a shit about protest? they could easily went back to military country if you force them too much. chinese at brunei are stateless but they still living peacefully. discriminated yes but at least they wont die from it. rohingya need to do themselves a favor. conditions will be harsh, discriminated but the very least they won't become a pest in other country.

The way you word it kinda dismisses the sort of killing and cruelty the gomen there does to these people. Cant simply say it is messy. The kind of pressure that's put into other issues arent placed here. To me that is the main issue. If you want talk about the killing, what about the part where the Rohingya killed ethnic Burmese when the British armed them to fight the Japanese? You seem to be under the impression there's widespread genocide happening in Rakhine right now. Yes, people did die during the 2012 riots and yes, they are discriminated against in Myanmar. I said it's messy because you have to take into account their history. The Rohingyas want their own state and the Burmese people fear being displaced by migrants.
