Can't wait to try this out in stores.

Z5 seems will be very expensive when reach here.
Z5 Compact have smaller screen than M5.

M5 seems like a good option.

Tested for few days. So far for normal usage + social apps this phone quite reasonable for the price. if you are a gamer please invest a lil bit more and buy Z5 variant. IMO Mediatek Helio X10 is not a very powerful chip for games. Moving from Qualcomm chip i think my previous Z1 compact fell snappier than this M5.
Hmm, worse than Z1 doesn't sounds very good! Will need to try this myself to judge.

Another issue is it is still on 5.0 where everyone else is on 5.1 already.

Drop by Sony Centre Midvalley yesterday night. Overall the phone looks good. Screen brightness is OK only compared with my S3 which is way more brighter.
Still feel plasticky build. The white color looks grand with chrome color bezel. Black color comes with black color bezels.

Having a second thought to go for this phone or any other phones. Have to decide by end of today as my RM1k voucher expires on next Tuesday. Sigh!! hmm.gif

Are you talking about the M5 or the C5??

Just played with the m5 camera in the curve. The focus is indeed fast. Compared it to the z3+.

There's one funny thing though, once I switch it to the manual mode, and select the sports scene, which I thought will need the fast focus the most, then the focus slows down, as if PDAF didn't kick in. And after that, even if I switch it back to superior auto mode again, the focus is still slow, until I reopen the camera app.

Went to play with the camera again, something's strange about the focus really though, I suspect it have something to do with the Focus Mode, somehow most of the times when it is in Single Continunous, then the focus is fast.

Anyway, regardless of this issue, I have snapped up the phone!

For those looking for accessories, here are a few that's for sale in The Curve Sony Store. I didn't get any of these, wanted the simple case but they do not have white color.

I find the 5 inch screen perfect for me, that's why I switch to M5 from my Nexus 5. Same screen size, same resolution. biggrin.gif

Z3 Compact for battery life
M5 for fast auto focus.
M4 for budget

Z3 Compact have better battery life because of its smaller screen and resolution?

I haven't seen Z3 compact in stores before though.

Z3 Compact will also have better support, its an older phone but it have 5.1 already. It looks like M5 will just stay at 5.0.

I have just used it for almost 1 day. The phone is quite speedy, comparable or faster than my old Nexus 5. Brightness by default is lower though, I need to bring it to max to match the "mid" setting on my Nexus 5.

The built in speaker have a lot more mid and highs, can even feel the air pumping out from the bottom vent if I put my thumb to close the speaker (hopefully won't spoil it, just to make sure the front facing speakers are dummy, hehe).

Battery life need to run a bit longer first.

I replaced the launcher with Google Now Launcher, keyboard with Google Keyboard, felt right at home.

The front and back of the phone, does need a bit getting used to, somehow the "border" sticks out a little bit compared to the flat panel.

There are a lot of pre-installed apps on the phone, but thankfully they can all be uninstalled.

Tried Skyforce 2014, looked smooth, I haven't tried this game on other phones for comparison though.

go to the curve sony center. got my m5 back case and temper glass sp there. but to be honest, i would choose to use the phone nakedly... if back SP is available.

I am also currently running my M5 naked, the phone is quite thick on its own, actually similar thickness with my Nexus 5 with case. The back is nice to hold and touch, even though plastic, so now for me just be a bit more careful. Another plus point for getting a not so expensive phone (compared to Z3+/Z5), no need to care for it so much. tongue.gif

Bare in mind tat M5 is "super" mid range phone while Note 5, S6 consider flagship phones~
Hardly can compare these phones together actually~  blush.gif

Suggest to wait for Z5 or Z5 premium if u can wait~  smile.gif

Looking at the ways that Sony is pricing their RX100 series camera, I have a feeling that Z5 will be very expensive, and they are going to continue selling Z3/Z3+ next to it. Just like how they are selling the RX100M2 and RX100M3.
