I think it depends on what's your expectation of earning after quit the job actually. Some mums just hope to earn some extra money to help the family finance; some can only quit after the income earned by working from home is enough to replace the full time job.
Multiple the source of income could be a solution too. That's what i am doing now.
I have a friend who's an Engineer quit her job to be a part timer or freelancer in order to spend more time at home. She got the jobs via existing network and even her ex company.
It might be tough but there's a will there's a way. That's what mums who share the same mind encourage each other.
