Saw the news on the chukkas this morning. I can safely say that the risk of those selling out are next to nil.
Just sharing my observation on the Wood Wood UB on-line release on Saturday. They released at 6 a.m. Malaysia time so as I was up early (due to my baby), I figured what the hell ... just try to see if it is actually possible to try to get these on-line. I tried on Slam Jam and Hanon by the way.
To cut a long story short, I honestly don't think it is actually possible to get these on-line for us here. Their servers will crash and by the time it's back up, everything will be sold out.
This got me thinking, why bother releasing it on-line if you don't have the IT infrastructure to handle such a load? I believe users who are geographically closer to the respective sites servers (i.e. UK for Hanon and Italy for Slam Jam) are those who actually stand a chance. Might as well have an in-store release/on-line raffle or something like that to make sure everyone has a fair go at the sneakers.
As for us here, our best chance is a Sole What/Crossover x Adidas collab not too far in the future

u mean shorter response time to the server right? that does make sense
ill also say that even those closer dont fair that much better either, too little stock too many buyers, luck is at maybe 5%, 95% of others will get an error screen
and then there's the botters issue, but even so botters STILL need to fight amongst other botters
i too was online for the wood wood release managed to add to cart but no further than that, upon checkout stock was gone
i think they do release it online because its a service obligation provided by their shops
iirc some kith nyc releases are instore only
