I've read other sneaker forums and it shouldn't be a problem ... unless you have unusually wide feet. Best bet would be to try out Ultra Boosts sizes here just to make sure.

If you don't want to deal with freight forwarders, you can order from here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adidas-Ultra-Boost...iWoHxpxGx6vYVJA

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adidas-Ultra-Boost...UuGipiTKDtMBFTg

What you pay for shipping and import charges above are in fact actually cheaper than what you'll be charged by freight forwarders.

I mean no disrespect to your friend but it's people like this who feed the sneaker reseller market. At the same time, he has every right to spend that sort of money as he can afford it, so you can't blame him either.

People who really want the sneaker (and use it personally) at retail are the ones who ultimately lose out.

indeed he is from a very rich family, he would rather spend that money instead of que for the shoes himself (even he go que doesnt means he can get it either)

but i just very curious why it is the market become like this, why whenever there is a new drop, surely have to qiong like mad, i just dont understand!

For all the madness surrounding Adidas, you can safely blame Kanye West.

So nice. For those of you wanting to cop the Wood Wood collaboration but don't want to queue ... here's a list of shops that you can try:

Good luck.

Import duty I think. At least 10% and usually you'll have to pay if you import in more than RM500 worth of stuff.

They started chargind around 1 or 2 years ago.

But not primeknit right?

Anyway I got myself a pair of tubular doom pk... But there's a problem. It's a good fit but there's this hard toe box area which is really weird and I have to tie the laces quite tightly to prevent my big toe from hitting the edge of the hard knit.

Very disappointed although the shoes are super dope

That's what happened to me and the Tubulars I bought around more than a year ago ... I believe going half a size up would eliminate the problem. If I had done that I probably would have been able to wear them.

I ended up giving away my Tubulars and have not purchased any Adidas shoes on-line since. There are lots of UB deals on-line but I'm holding off until I actually try them in stores.

I wouldn't worry about import duty ... you might have to pay for GST though.

My recent purchase from Hanon around 2 months ago was below RM500 and I didn't have to pay any extra duty/GST.

Not just reseller culture, but sneaker culture in general.

Nike SB is dead. Nike AF is dead. Nike Air Max has pretty much gone shitters. Air Jordans, there was never any hype in Malaysia, now folks are buying up new releases, LOL. It seems that the new generation of sneaker enthusiasts really like buying new shoes over previously hard to get pairs.

Just to share some old stuff (some are now sold):

Even though I'm not a fan of Nike, that's a nice collection.

I'm not a collector by any means and purchase sneakers to personally wear for their design/technology but I see where you're coming from.

I believe the shift is more due to age demographic of sneaker buyer nowadays. Although everyone knows who Michael Jordan is, it's not such a big deal with kids nowadays as most of them are into the current stars and that's why you see other brands such as Under Armour coming up (due to that Curry fellow).

With Adidas, they struck gold with Kanye and I think even they didn't expect that he would have such a big influence on streetwear fashion. I'm not a fan of his music but admit that he has a certain way of dressing which funnily enough appeals to this old man (it may also be the influence of the media ... I don't know).

I'm currently on the look-out to purchase some Adidas UB and despite all the technology built into that shoe, the main reason why I'm considering it in the first place was because of Kanye. I saw him wear it once and it just grew from there.

TL; DR : Kids now buy sneakers based on what's hot at the moment and have no interest in what happened in the past.

i too have succumb to the temptation of getting the UB because of its looks.. more so after trying them on (the turquoise CW).. the feel and comfort is of a different level..

am not sneaker collector but i do appreciate having a couple in my rotation.. getting them in store for retail is almost impossible - for the nicer CW, buying online from overseas will be too expensive given our weak currency.. only option is turning to resellers and paying for rape price..

probably one of the reasons why business is good for them..
*
Tell me about it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but after trawling the web for some time I noticed that UB's are cheapest in Malaysia at retail.

That's why it's virtually impossible to get the nicer colourways in Malaysia. No one is buying from the web.

Ya man. He wore it in one show and everyone loses their minds.

Refer to my previous post and you can buy them at retail from eBay ... just have to be willing to swallow the shipping and import duty.

Only left sizes 8 and 9 though.

What do you guys think?

Too sports shoe like?

Kinda ironic that the supposedly 'Street' version of UB looks chunkier and bulkier than the normal UB.

For the same price, I'd rather go for the original UB.

Slam Jam having 10% off on their sale items.

Some interesting stuff for Puma and Converse fans if the size is right.

Sucks that the Puma Discs aren't in my size.

I'm not made of money so don't have a Y3. But reading around it's noted that Y3's run 0.5 to 1 size bigger than normal Adidas.

I'm mulling over these grey tubulars vs the black ones

but both are out of stock for my size (UK10). I wear a 9.5 on my regular tubulars, and my doom. But heard the radials are abit narrow (I have weird and wide hobbit like feet) so I think I better get a 10

Don't want to derail the thread but I have to ask ... where did you get your Dooms?

Probably target the Dooms after getting the UB's.

speaking of UBs... I tried on the Pure Boost 2.0s today... fantastic. Much nicer than the UBs in terms of comfort and more casual like!

Thanks for your reply. Tubular Dooms are sold out everywhere now ... had a chance to buy them from SJS but passed hoping for a discount later on. I was so so wrong. Compared to UB's, the Dooms are even harder to get.

Yup. The Pure Boosts are definitely more comfortable because it doesn't have the cage and heel reinforcements. Perfect for walking and casual activities. However, they're terrible if you want to run or do sports in them.

man any forwarding service skyrockets the final price

NMDs dropping on Mar 17, 2 chukkas
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Saw the news on the chukkas this morning. I can safely say that the risk of those selling out are next to nil.

Just sharing my observation on the Wood Wood UB on-line release on Saturday. They released at 6 a.m. Malaysia time so as I was up early (due to my baby), I figured what the hell ... just try to see if it is actually possible to try to get these on-line. I tried on Slam Jam and Hanon by the way.

To cut a long story short, I honestly don't think it is actually possible to get these on-line for us here. Their servers will crash and by the time it's back up, everything will be sold out.

This got me thinking, why bother releasing it on-line if you don't have the IT infrastructure to handle such a load? I believe users who are geographically closer to the respective sites servers (i.e. UK for Hanon and Italy for Slam Jam) are those who actually stand a chance. Might as well have an in-store release/on-line raffle or something like that to make sure everyone has a fair go at the sneakers.

As for us here, our best chance is a Sole What/Crossover x Adidas collab not too far in the future tongue.gif

u mean the forwarding company will jack up the final price??
me and my colleagues has been using hopshopgo for the third year already and we never face this kind of problem though smile.gif
we always bulk order (from various online store/website) then have these merchant send to hopshopgo and one go send back to m'sia
and we saved quite a lot as we always wait for the "EXTRA" mark down or discount then only buy smile.gif
*
True. However, for single shoe purchase it becomes not practical as it'll probably cost around USD40 to USD50 to ship.

true... thats y i mentioned buy in bulk...get a few friends who wanna get things online (anything...from attire to sneakers to accessories...) that way it would be far far cheaper... smile.gif
for example, eastbay having 20%, if we get three pairs of sneakers (take furylite for example) it will roughly weigh (in volumetric) at 6kg
at hopshopgo 1st 0.5kg charges will be USD29, subsequent 0.5 at usd3, so 6kg total charges only at USD62.
share with three friends after currency conversion is ard Rm90 only
the shoe itself after conversion is at RM135, so in total only Rm225
at least in the whole kuching (the city where i lived smile.gif  i cant even get any of these sneakers at this price...i'm not sure maybe KL has wider range of option to choose from smile.gif
just imho  smile.gif

I get what you're saying and you're absolutely correct. However, it'll only be cheaper if you get the sneakers at deep discount from the US. Unfortunately, this is something that's not going to happen to hype sneakers such as UB, NMD, etc. We're just going to accept the fact that we're triply screwed here because of cheap currency, high shipping costs and import duty/GST charges.

Hiya, need some advice here. I really like this Fred Perry shoe but I feel like the price is a bit too much (RM659), its almost marked up by RM 200 as it only retails of 75 pounds in the UK. I did consider buying it online but then it adds to the same price when shipping cost is included. So do you think it's worth the money?

Plus, any recommendations for similar shoe styles, preferably below RM500.00?
