I'm using Samsung aircon inverter, triangle design too for both master bedroom (1hp) and living room (1.5hp).

so far so good and the compressor is not that noisy as yours.

Maybe I'm just plain lucky.

Call for service and see what they say, instead of relying on forum. Could be installation issue for all you know.

If the fan bearing design got problem, installation won't really have effect on it.

If it was mishandled during installation, there is possibility of damage as well. Anyways its good to call the service centre and see what they have to say. After that, if still not satisfied can always go to consumer tribunal to request for full refund wink.gif

As said, design problem. Installation won't really help if design got problem.
When I was working in Qatar, the villas(about 40 houses with each using 6 air conds) are using Samseng air conds. Surprisingly, non of them operating quietly, adding extra bushing on the bash do help on reducing the vibration slightly but can't eliminate the noise.

Someone just commented above that they are using the triangle version Samsung AC and its quiet. How long ago did you Samsung?

Why is calling the service centre for something under warranty is such a difficult thing to do? First we eliminate the causes before arriving to the fact that it is design failure. I am not supporting Samsung but just giving benefit of doubt that's all wink.gif

Can call, but the most is changing to another unit.
Then when noisy again, change again? Then it will be never ending.
For me, I don't need 30 years of warranty if it is keep on giving me problem. s while waiting to be repaired, I got nothing to use doh.gif
Korean brands still need 20-30 years to improve their design to reach Japanese brand's standard.

I am not here to argue, but let TS call and see what the service centre says. I even had Japanese brand fail on me during warranty, this things are sometimes based on luck. If you feel that Samsung is not good enough for you, just stay away from it but in this case the issue is to see how to resolve TS problem. Unless you want to buy for TS a Japanese brand AC to replace the Samsung:P

Indeed luck comes into play. But as said, in that villa I stayed before, out of 60, > 50 of them are giving vibration and noisy issues. If 1 out of 1000, then I would say luck, as it is just 0.1%, but for this, if the % are > 80%, I won't say is luck, more on unreliable products being produced.
BTW, all my appliance at my house are Panasonic, non of them failed before even after 10 years, again this is my luck?
Even a Samseng FL washing machine here keep on boasting how superior that WM was also don't dare to touch Samseng's air cond. So indirect he is telling that it is not reliable.

I think the unit not really that loud sound. It is probably

1) the base and the wall around the unit reflect and echoing the sound. That cause the unit sound louder.
2) The placement space is small and almost surround by wall. It is like speaker box.
3) It is 1.5hp unit. The running sound is a bit higher.

hi Jack, how is your air con now? Still noisy? How about cooling and power consumption?

Hi , just notice this reply from here.

FYI, i already replace the AIR cond with Panasonic Inverter (forget what model), now using Panasonic is much better.

Sorry Samsung, you should improve your Air Cond before i give you good comment.

you see our aircon specialist install too darn close to the wall all the time. This reduces airflow right and make it not so efficient

I notice they don't read the manual before install. They expecting all the aircon is the same. Regardless the new type or old type.

yes.... sorry cos my house too small two wall the for air cond is not large enough. But once replace Panasonic unit, install in the exact same place!! still got noise but is much much more low noise than Samsung. Obviously the problem is the brand design itself.

you got to be kidding me! read the manual? that is the first thing they throw out biggrin.gif
when the guy came install my sink, i told him the instruction manual is to follow this cut-out measurement. he actually threw it right in front of me. In the end, he cut too big but luckily it still fit.

malaysians dun read manuals doh.gif
