Asian shares slipped on Wednesday after a mixed day on Wall Street, though Japan's better-than-expected economic growth lifted the Nikkei to a 15-year high.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was down about 0.2 percent.

KLCI rose 0.39 point or 0.02% to settle at 1,810.11 points as uncertainties on Greece's financials hit world market sentiment. Malaysia's political scene is closely watched as foreign investors sought clarity on the impact of 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

A remisier said foreign investors were cautious about increasing their positions in local shares.

Japanese shares hit a new 15-year high on Thursday on hopes that its long-moribund economy was finally coming to life, but weak China factory activity capped stock market gains in much of the rest of Asia

Tokyo's Nikkei gained 0.5 percent a day after the release of stronger-than-expected GDP data.

Nikkei rises for a 6th day, longest winning streak since Dec
QUOTE
Japan's Nikkei share average edged up on Friday in thin trade, extending its gains into a sixth day as optimism for the recovering economy supported the mood after the Bank of Japan's two-day policy meeting.

The central bank maintained its massive stimulus programme and offered a slightly more upbeat view of the Japanese economy, as a modest rebound in consumption helped service-sector sentiment improve to a one-year high.
