Hello, would like to seek for advice:

Idea Of The Week: The Investment Value of BRIC

AmBRIC Equity Fund
RHB-OSK-GS BRIC Equity Fund (FS Recommended Fund)
TA BRIC and Emerging Markets Fund

Which one is better fund to invest in?
*
RHB-OSK-GS BRIC Equity Fund ...CLOSED for purchase.
for me i would take TA BRIC and Emerging Markets Fund because the lipper fund volatility is much lower than AMBRIC (10.2 vs 14.2)
TA BRIC and Emerging Markets Fund invest min 70%, Ambric invest min 95%
check their fund factsheets for details

This thread moves so fast... because people keep posting ANALysis from FSM.
But most of them are just noise  yawn.gif
*
hmm.gif isn't that BETTER than from forumers owns prophecies about the markets?

from FSM site....

Thanks for the reply! FSM sales charge only 2% (and less than that if you're a silver/gold/platinum status). Isn't a 3% initial entry fee equivalent to paying the sales charge? One might getting 0% sales charge for the mutual fund, but he/she already parted off with a 3% initial entry fee. You got a good deal there.. zero initial fee and 1%pa maintenance fee sounds good! Is the iFAST WRAP account as user friendly as the FSM one? I like the FSM website. So user friendly - easy to see my holdings, analyse portfolio, compare charts..
*
hmm.gif Those core funds (funds that did not moves "regulary") are also charged annually about 2%...... cry.gif

Some information is inaccurate; some information is accurate but not useful for making judgment.
I notice that some of you switch fund very frequently (Pinky's term - over-transact). You are too sensitive to the news (noise).
*
hmm.gif yes,....for me, some are not useful but some are...
I could not tell if they are inaccurate because, I am just a noop.
some like me just want to have some action (just to see what is over the fence),...we have a few supplementary funds that may moves with the trends and at times emotion from the noises, while at the same time keeping the main cores funds in place.

just make sure your portfolio is diversified..the funds recommended by fsm is good enough dy to create a stable portfolio..thats all and yeah, just take the articles with a pinch of salt and dont blatantly sell or buy funds just because the article says so
*
rclxms.gif quite accurate.
btw,...I think most of the times,..they don't say sell or buy...MOST of the times they would "recommend".
the ONLY time I read they say "sell these funds" is years back on the some bond funds where there are loan default or downgrade....

Bought below fund with 1k each after doing some quick research. anyone think some of the selection below is wrong?

Eastspring Investments Bond Fund
Eastspring Investments Dana Dinamik
Eastspring Investments Dynamic Fund
Eastspring Investments Small-Cap Fund
KAF Vision Fund
Kenanga Growth Fund
RHB-OSK Islamic Bond Fund
RHB-OSK Small Cap Opportunity Unit Trust
RHB-OSK Smart Balanced Fund
*
hmm.gif may i suggest that you refer fund fact sheet of each of these fund....
the fund fact sheets "most probably" has the country allocation chart showing the % allocated for each countries....
in case of single country focused fund...it will not show the % per each country.

Plot the % down onto an excel file....
then see where is the countries and % allocated for each fund...add them all up to see the total of % and countries allocated for your portfolio.
Separate them into Equity and Bond funds....

do you like what you see?.....
(it seems that your portfolio are mostly focused in M'sia...)
(If M'sia were to kena hit (like rating downgrade) ALL in your portfolio also kena....)
there is NOT right or wrong..just your individual preference....

i know what's ponzi but what's ponzi in FSM?

and is it a good idea to withdraw EPF to invest in UT?
*
see post# 8, page 1 for what is Ponzi in FSM.

hmm.gif I would suggest use the EPF as the bond asset...(Leave it there and consider it as bond)

just an article from FSM.....
How Did EPF-Approved Funds Perform In 2014?..... February 11, 2015
We recap the overall performance of EPF-approved funds in 2014

many years ago, i love bond fund. fairly good yield (if not mistaken about 8%) and low risk

then the bond market crashed  cry.gif

that time so naive, thought bond fund won't go negative. only go up slowly or go up fast

rclxms.gif many people also have this same thought.....including me... doh.gif
