wow, thanks for this info.....
so I guess KGF is an all rounder eh...
Best of the three, what you think?
*
KGF can be core, especially with the 1% promotion going on. small cap can be supp portfolio.

KGF and EI small cap has a relatively high liquidity (20 - 27%) for a while now. EI at 27% atm. waiting to position themselves upon correction. make sure to download the factsheet for the month may from the fund house websites.

annual expense ratio similar between all 3 funds. risk wise, smart balanced lower due to investment in money market.
EI small cap 4 to 5 times larger than smart balanced and vision fund. might be hard to fully utilized the fund because of the small medium cap investment restriction whereas smart balanced is a little more flexible. can invest more in money market when can't find value stock.

cant advice you further as i am still very new to UT.

could potentially wait till Fitch's decision on Malaysia's sovereign rating?

May I know when is that?  hmm.gif

FSM seminar in penang said May. EI small cap fundsheet said end of May or early June. KGF said may.

but 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) could cancel out the negative market sentiment?

nikko AM thinks that Jap stocks are not overvalued yet despite hitting new high recently

https://secure.fundsupermart.com/main/artic...t-run-up--10363

note that the affin hwang japan growth fund has been falling in and out of top 5 fund in terms of 1 month return.
nikko AM is the external fund manager for japan growth fund
note that japan growth fund has redemption fees
note that the article is being published on first of may and nikkei and topix has since achieved a new high
nikko AM underweight on HK because Corporate Hong Kong has few competitive advantages and its economy is increasingly reliant on China’s benevolence. (Nikko AM monthly outlook)

Market Outlook
June has traditionally been a marginally positive month for the KLCI with an average monthly return of 0.7%. However, the 1Q15 results season in May has indeed been a disappointment. Therefore, investors will digest this set of results and may trim positions on any market rebound during the month, thus limiting upside gains, if any.

We expect 2Q15 results (in Aug) to be unexciting, due to the impact of the implementation of GST starting Apr 1. Given the likely weak demand post-GST and the lack of pricing power, margin compression could weigh down considerably on earnings. We expect the market to revise 2015earnings growth downwards on the back of the poor 1Q results season.

Fund Strategy
As we do not see any positive catalyst for the market in the near term, we have reduced our equity exposure in order to lock in some profits.

KGF - 25.8% of short term cash and deposit

Thanks for valuable input  rclxms.gif

I've just switched-sell 50% of KGF into Kenanga AsiaPac Total Return fund and maintain EISC..still considering to switch-sell to EI global leader my fund as recommended.  Also done additional top-up Ponzi 2.0 fund, and add in few new funds into my portfolios, include CIMB-Greater China and EI AsiaPac Shariah Equity fund.

Well, dunno about the ratio now, as a lot of processes still queuing up for transaction...lazy to calculate but estimated KGF holdings should be around 15%  (from previously 31.8%)  hmm.gif

i think KGF probably will dip in the near future upon Fitch's rating. can always swap back from total return fund to KGF.

I have been swapping 80% of my KGF to kenanga asia pac total return recently.

but keep in mind, there is some delay in swapping the funds if you decide to swap back and forth

FAQ

The whole process of an Intra switch (for BOTH cash and EPF Account 1 investments) will take four business days to complete after the transaction date (T) of the switch sell & buy funds i.e. T+4 business days.

please note the 1 business days lag time if you switch buy into CIMB-Principal Global Titans Fund, CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund, and Kenanga Asia Pacific Total Return Fund.
