Definitely 5ghz. Lan can only support up to 100mbps. 5ghz can support your full internet speed subscribed.

hi experts!

I was given a mi box or mi box s, not sure which one, came install with RSS player (Android TV) but the links inside seems broken for K variety. I removed the link and put back the link and it is still the same.

When I dig deeper, it seems the RSS Player is install in another Android shell environment instead of the Android environment that the mi box or box S runs on.

Question:
1. Can I factory default the Mi Box or Box S and then install RSS player (Android TV)...will that work? Because I can install and run the RSS player on my droid phone no problem.

My intended watch list on the box is HK TVB drama and variety, K drama and K variety mostly. Netflix I can use my smart tv direct.

My old X92.... LAN support 1Gbps.
Wifi 5GHz definatlly can't support full internet speed subscribed.

my internet speed is 300mbps, my mi box s Speedtest shows 301mbps. so it supports my full internet speed without any problems.

Your LAN only 100 Mbps ?
My Wifi 5GHz no way to support 1GBps.
For Wifi 5 , border is about 300-500 Mbps.

got my mi box yesterday and side loaded multiple apps. but then notice the app didnt show at main screen.

which launcher will let i see all the app?

installed atv launcher, problem solved.

Can I watch FTA channel and Live football matches with Mi Box?

Because I recently bought LG Smart TV. So far enjoying Netflix, Youtube, HBO GO, Spotify, etc2.. But cannot found any apps that can stream FTA channel and sports.

for FTA, you can install tivimate and search for the playlist from previous post that has been share. for football, subs dazn and connect to canada vpn.

Oh one more thing, im only using 4G Router with Maxis sim, 350gb data. So far no problem watching netflix & youtube in high quality. But for 4k mode, need to watch outside peak/prime hour. Otherwise got lag sometimes.

Hahaha. Of course la. We’re talking about mi box s. There’s no built in lan. So you have to use a usb lan adaptor and the box only supports Max 100mbps.

Nope. Actually 100mbps can stream 4K hdr smoothly and very healthy over buffer speeds.

Exactly. IMO 100mbps is overkill already for streaming even 4K. I have 300mbps and have never felt I needed more even with 2 teenage kids playing online games and streaming Netflix constantly in the house with my wife working from home with zoom. More than enough.
