Yeah, whats so different about this box and the International version? Same specs only. I suspect the artificial intelligence is the voice search depending on Google voice. But isn't Google Apps banned in China? Hmm.

YouTube, Netflix, Bloomberg, CNET, Al Jazeera run as native apps but iFlix has no Android TV version so I have to continue casting content from my phone or tablet. Pluto and Haystack TV are quite fun to explore.

I have tried this. Iflix android app linstalls and runs fine but UI navigation is a real bitch. The icon appears on the leanback launcher after the most recent launcher update. 

Very hard to see where my selection cursor is at and almost impossible to click on the play button with the MI Remote.

yeah exactly, I already know what root does, pretty much gained full access to the device, giving permission to apps that will access to system lower level that normally is protected.

but ppl out there called this modification on mi TV box "jailbreak" like it's another thing other than root,

since the tv box is also android based, I dont really get it, is jailbreak just another name of root? or different thing
my question is simple:

is Jailbreak = Root?

if it's not, whats the difference?   just have a little confusion with "jailbreak" especially in Mi TV box android based device.

if Iphone/IPad IOS I know what jailbreak does, but in mi tv box android device? some ppl say need to jailbreak then root?

Just wanna ask, those purchased mibox international version, why buy from US? I checked Taiwan and Hong Kong xiaomi website, it is much cheaper compared to buy in US (I believed due to currency issue). Anyone can advise?

If you managed to find the apk, sure. But it will not show on the main screen. You can easily get around this by installing HAL launcher and be able to access the app from there. OR you can access the settings> Apps > then select it from there.

Hi guys, I am thinking of getting a mibox, but need some help on the below:

1.) anyone bought from www.kodibuy.com? trusted seller?
2.) can mibox do mirroring with PC (via google cast) and Mac (airplay)?
3.) any issue using mibox with time broadband service?

Just got my 'free' mibox android tv. Feeling a bit disappointed with the app selection. Apple TV might have been the better option but I'm not complaining since it's free. 4K 60FPS is acceptable although not perfect. Sometimes it stutter very slightly but noticeable.  My main usage is for my son to stream youtube and it's perfect for that. Also plenty useful for myself since I'm will be using it to watch LCK. I really wished they would allowed at least Chrome but sadly to no avail. Not to mentioned I had to pay again because it didn't show my purchases from my android phones.

which app (APK) allows us to stream those china live TV channels (such as CCTV, Hunan TV, etc)?
i can't even watch mango TV on my pc as it requires china IP.

It seem impossible to sideload chrome. There's a Web browser though after I did some googling.

My paid MX Player Pro app shows up in the play store on my international Mibox.

I believe apps and games that are not compatible with Android TV OS will not show up. Can sideload, perhaps.
