Hi,

Thinking of buying this. I was a Chromecast user. I am used to sending my own Youtube account's content from my phone to the TV. I depend a lot on my account's Watch Later playlist.

So if I get the Mi Box, what is the best solution to achieve this please.

The Mi Box is not a receiver like Chromecast, is it? Can I just run the Youtube app from my phone and cast the screen to the Mi Box to have it mirrored on my TV?

Thanks.

Thanks for your comment but that don't serve my purpose. sad.gif

I think best for me is to mirror phone screen. Not sure how successful is that. Anyone tried this before? Otherwise I just watch Youtube on my tiny phone screen. cry.gif Or I buy back Chromecast. Ish. unsure.gif

As mentioned, mibox youtube unable to sign-in (not rooted) so "watch later" will not work.

The only solution is screencast your phone to mibox (same like casting to chromecast) or buy other android device that can sign-in youtube.

Yup yup, thank you. smile.gif I understand the Mi Box does not support Google account sign-in. So, the pre-installed Youtube app in the Mi Box is not useful to me. I won't be using it.

So I guess, my real question is whether anyone tried the screen casting function of our phones to the Mi Box successfully. Did you try it on yours Wacky-Angel? blush.gif

No, you cant do in such way. Me also having same issue like you

What i do is, Mibox -> HDMI -> TV -> Audio Output -> AV Cable -> Sound System

TV usually will default the Audio Output as primary, if no plug in then only TV speaker, just like mobile phone or laptop.

It worked perfectly to me. Hope this will help you out.

hi bro, thanks you for your replied.

Mibox -> HDMI -> TV , this part i understand, just connect my mibox to my tv with HDMI.

TV -> Audio Output -> AV Cable -> Sound System, the "Audio Output" here means the AO from TV or mibox?
and the AV cable is the 3 color red, yellow and white cable?

thanks

Nowadays LED \ LCD TV will have a Audio Out option at connectors part, it should be either coaxial cable in White and Red, or Optical Out, depend on your preferences.

Coaxial cable can get very easy, it comes with 2 colors (White and Red) or 3 colors (Red, White and Yellow). If you bought 3 colors which is the easiest to get, just ignore the yellow will do.

Having issues with my mi box launching Kodi. Everytime I launch, it's as if a first time activation. Then I get a black screen.

I read that the solution to this is to force stop them clear cache but my mi box isn't rooted so I can't see those android app management.

Tried using clean master but didn't work

Anyone have any solution?

Hi, I use "Tubio" to cast online video and "BubbleUPnP" to cast local contents from my phone (android) to my MiBox without problem. There are plenty of apps with the same function out there I guess u can get easily by searching DLNA.

My unifi 10mbps streaming china apps like vst, moli,电视猫,average speed is abt 100 to 200 kbps. Some even drop to below 100kbps. Any solution or dns works better for streaming china apps?

Will unifi 30mbps faster than 10mbps in terms of streaming?
