Anyone has issue for Mibox S buying from Lazada or Shopee?

I contact Xiaomi TV Box thru FB directly, the quote is Mibox 4 RM 580 and Tmall M18(pro) is RM 499 and installed few hundred channels with auto installed everyday.

I intend to get one from Lazada, at just RM 265 but not sure what is the difference.

My mi box s keep changing reso from 4k to 480p after update to android 9.. Please.. Anyone know how to fix it? 😢😢

I connect Mibox optical output directly to external speaker and not using TV speaker. I tried bluetooth as well both are having the same issue so i guess the problem is from the Mibox itself.

Anyone have any experience watching 4K HDR bluray remux on Mibox S? Hows the playback like? Is the Mibox able to handle high bitrate content? And what about dolby atmos passthrough? Will the mibox passthrough dolby atmos to my soundbar?

plan to buy mi box s this weekend, before i buy i want to ask couple of questions.

1. after i buy the box, what should i do? just plug and enjoy?
Update the Mi Box if prompt new update available. Normally will have one as out of the box is not latest version.
2. if i had to install something (apps, etc) at mi box, is it difficult?
Nope unless you want side load none Android TV apps which need mouse to operate and not the remote control, also need side load launcher because it is not design for Android TV OS. Side load standard Android apps won't appear at the main screen as Android TV OS is different than normal Android OS you seen in mobile phone.
3. and after i installed the "apps", does the warranty void?
Nope.
4. i already read at the 1st page, but that was long ago, 2015.

5. should i buy the mi box at authorized dealers (local stores @aeon) or just buy at shopee? If you worried get China version, better buy at Mi Store retailer shop.

Right now for certified Netflix devices, your choice are either Mi Box 4S or Mecool KM2, both should be around the same price and have local stock. I owned both, and I highly recommend getting the KM2 since it has more ports, a dedicated LAN, Micro SD slot as well as a USB 3 port. This is compared to just the single USB port that the Mi Box has.

Note that there is a third option, the Chromecast with Google TV. But I honestly won't recommend it since there are adverts on the UI, and Netflix does not let Google use it's database to populate it's front screen, meaning the UI is useless if you are a Netflix user.
