Previously working not means after that will working. Some more that apps is not officially in Google TV OS Play Store. Since it is side load, user should manually check for if got any update, if after update still got problem, user should contact the developer and raise the issue for further check by the developer.

Different OS version is no surprise if existing apps not working because certain function might already remove or added and may happen conflict.

Sorry not really can recommended as I seldom watch broadcast TV live channel in TV box as I got DVB-T2 connect to antenna that already give me all local Malaysia & also Singapore broadcast channel. They is an apps call MiTV where you can get at Facebook Kodi IPTV Malaysia group, you need to subscribe to them and get from them directly, that one have some local channel and world channel but need to update from time to time and not guarantee always work.

Interface

• Compare with older Android TV 6.0.0 interface, I much more prefer this new interface, it is more useful, easier navigation and function with much premium nicer look.
• Apps - you can pick and put your favourite use apps.
• Play Next - you can customize next to play film and halfway playing film will show here, not for Netflix film you watch as Netflix not allow.
• Netflix - if you subscribe to Netflix, your recent play film will show here and also include the ability to direct switch profile.

Apps

• By Clicking the "Apps" button will bring you to all installed Android TV apps interface where you can select the less using apps to open here.
• On top "Get more apps" open Google TV Play Store for finding more new apps or updating the installed apps.

Channels

• Scrolling the main page "Channels" let you directly interact with the apps without needed to go inside the apps itself.
• You can customize the Channels to appear in main home screen or not and also select what to display. This Channels is limited to apps that is support on it only.

Google Assistant

• This new Google Assistant is very well done and it is officially support in Malaysia. I find it searching capability is ahead Apple TV 4K Siri where currently Siri is not support in Malaysia iTunes account, also Google Assistant is given a better result.
• You can ask what is today weather in Kuala Lumpur when you want to know today weather.
• You can also search for title you look for, for example "Beauty and the Beast" and it will show you result related to it. Once you click on it you have the option to watch the trailer at YouTube, watch at Netflix or buy at Google Play Movies.

Others New Features in Android TV 8.0.0 - Oreo
The comparison with Apple TV 4K video quality is my sincere truth comparison, not for reason of promoting it, I won't promote thing I get nothing beneficial.

• 10-bit Deep Color - Finally Deep Color is working properly and not broken and support 10-bit YCbCr in 4K, this enhance the video output quality. It is better than previous 8-bit but still not on par video quality compare with Apple TV 4K where have much smoother color rendering and also better 1080p upscale quality.
• HDR - Finally Netflix support HDR output.

Cons / limitation

• I get smooth playback only when I set as 10-bit Color, I not sure why it is stuttering from time to time if set as 8-bit Color.
• Amazon Prime Video still required side load as not officially available at Google TV Play Store and also not support HDR playback.
• YouTube also not support HDR playback. At least it is support up to 4K playback not like Apple TV 4K only up to 1080p.
• Normal side load not Android TV apps but normal Android apps still required third party launcher to show the installed apps.
• Click power button to sleep and wake back still required for certain none Android TV apps installation.
• Sound sync issue still happen sometimes and the only solution is exit the apps or restart the device.

Bugs that not happen in previous Android TV 6.0.0

• 3rd party wireless /air mouse right button to go back previous screen is broken.
• NTFS / exFAT drive is not readable.
• Auto frame-rate switch that is not functioning proper is getting worst now where previously report at least KODI is able to do this but now it is totally broken.
• Stability in latest Android TV 8.0.0 is not good and I had facing few times hanging already where it often happen when I switch on the device and not waiting it full load by clicking the remote control for navigation, this not happen in previous version of Android TV 6.0.0

Additional Talk - Google Play Movies v/s Movies iTunes

• Google Play Movies still only up to 1080p content to purchase in Malaysia, also some older title is running the older version of master copy. For example I notice include "The Sound of Music" is using old 45th anniversary master copy not the 50th anniversary master copy use in Movies iTunes which correct the color tones and also the inconsistent color issue. Another title I notice is "Beauty and the Beast" is an earlier master copy also and not the latest 25th anniversary copy that include new extra footage. Beside this, I notice for film I own in both Google Play Movies and Movies iTunes where Movies iTunes video quality is at least slightly better output. Also additional good of purchase Movies iTunes is I get the extra contents but Google Play Movies only the film itself and price of Google Play Movies often expensive than Movies iTunes. Off course Movies iTunes also not perfect as certain title is 4K HDR in US but not in Malaysia iTunes account.

I have movies purchase from US and UK iTunes. VPN never required to play movies get from overseas iTunes.

I buy US and UK content using iTunes Gift Card because I don't have those county credit card and PayPal with Malaysia credit card is not support. Mainly I buying from Malaysia iTunes because it is far cheaper, I only look for title not available or not in 4K HDR then will consider get from US or UK.

I am playing 4K HDR in my Apple TV 4K for content it is in 4K HDR.

So far only my Apple 4K TV support Amazon Prime Video in 4K HDR. My Panasonic TV (it do show you the film is HDR or not but it won't playback in HDR), Panasonic Ultra-HD Blu-ray player and also Mi Box only support Amazon Prime Video in 4K no HDR.

It can easier switch after you enter all your iTunes account. Just go to setting and switch, during switching no need re-enter password or the iTunes account name. It is not like iPhone that troublesome.

From what I remember it never can since very long ago. I do try even PayPal they also check the attached credit card is from which country.

• You need US credit card if buy content from US iTunes.
• You need UK credit card if buy content from UK iTunes
• You need Malaysia credit card if buy from Malaysia iTunes.

Try install latest version. Mine all shown and ask when it needs.

The Google "Play Next" is so like Apple "TV" which mostly only work for it own apps. Netflix didn't work for both, I read this is due to Netflix refuse share it catalog with others, thus it won't work.

iFlix will work only if they share the catalog, else it is not working either.

The Play Next suppose work in YouTube but it is not, maybe it only work in YouTube Red.

So in short, if you don't have any Google Play Movies then it probably always empty.

I read some people facing this issue but mine is working fine. Strange is mine actually work better, previously I can't connect to 5Ghz Wi-Fi but now it can.

Just notice some Oreo bugs related connecting to bluetooth speaker.

• Netflix not in 4K or 4K HDR when pair with bluetooth speaker.
• Google Play Movies cannot playback movie and give error.
• Amazon Video give hissing buzz sound when play the movie.

Above 3 issues gone when unpair my 2.1 bluetooth speaker.

Finish update, this fix didn't fix the issue where Netflix only HD and also Play Movies cannot playback issue once connect sound to bluetooth speaker.

Auto switch grammer error fix but still not working yet.

Hope above two issue get fix asap in next update.

Stable and Netflix finally support HDR.

China version is the way no to go. China version is not international version, not running Google TV interface, no Play Store and no way to make Netflix running at HD and up to 4K HDR even you sideload it.

Mi Store China only selling China version.

I never try before. Sorry.

Yup. It is not that useful as the Netflix will be forever half broken give you 480p resolution for China set.

I use normal wireless mouse and it work. I think should work for keyboard also.
