me just planning to spend 2k on 4790k n mobo to run some stretegy game. dun feel like spending more besides can continue to use my ddr 3

Not sure what's the FPS but pretty smooth with the recommended high setting. The only thing is that it's on Normal unit count. When I put on Ultra, it's a bit lag for full stack battles.

Of course now I did not reach the stage with lots of magi here and there yet so don't know what will happen. I think minimum 270X should be enough to get ultra for minimum 30 fps.

I have won both short and long Empire victory condition. Don't know whether I want to continue (haven't even fought the Greenskins yet though we are at war) and start a new Dwarf campaign.

The Vampires has been obliterated and practically I'm allied with almost all the human and dwarf factions. I'm thinking of continuing a fortifying my northern provinces to make sure the Chaos does not venture south (have great aliiances helping with that too while sending Karl Franz army and few others down south to war with the Greenskins (and maybe unlock some more Steam achievements while doing so ).

I just starting to face the dwarfs. They declared war on me without provocation. Any tips for a Karl Franz player?

You're in dead centre, so don't fight multiple wars yet. If you have many enemies at the beginning try to be at peace with the rest except one (let's say the dwarf).

You can only sack/raze dwarfs settlements so use that ti make money while you build up your province (I hope by this time you already have the first four settlement province).

Basically as Empire, I say line up your spearmen in front, missile at the back and use the cav to flank. Wait until you can get your own artillery before venturing out.

Would you say an empire dwarf numerically equal battle puts the empire in disadvantage? Or is it an army composition thing. So what you're saying is swordsmen against dwarf ain't too useful?

There can be many strategy to that, spearman cheapest if you are playing higher difficulty. use them to stall and cover flank, archer in your case will be situational unless you run and gun, dwarf have high armor and morale, your general won't stall them out head on with swordsman, you need to tire them out then reenforce with swordsmen, better if you find a chance to flank.
