QUOTE(th3game @ Oct 20 2020, 10:50 PM) Have been running $2 smart doorbell for almost 5 months with no issue, follow exactly like the Frenck's blog..spare time during MCO Nice, easy to use that way if got that separate power source. I haven't implemented mine yet, but my idea was to put a contact sensor into the ding dong box to detect and when there is a press (press magnetizes the coil and will close the contact sensor).I just go extra miles by sensing the press and use HA camera snapshot (my CCTV camera) to push the notification to my phone, I even push the message to google home mini to announce something like "Ting tong...someone pressing your doorbell!"..works great! really usable when abg pos laju come in or monitoring your gate if someone tries to check if someone not at home » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(adamw @ Oct 24 2020, 08:04 PM) No its a Home Assistant Alexa Media Player integration, the idea is a cool one. Lets say I configure like this, if my gate is open for x number of time (forgot to close), Alexa asks through targeted Alexa devices (certain echos) if I want to close the gate then I can say yes and it will close or I say no or ignore and it won't do anything. |

QUOTE(wailing81 @ Oct 31 2020, 10:10 AM) Last night there is some unstable power, then one of my aqara smart switch with neutral can't switch on the fan anymore. However it still can be detected by the hub and on/off. Try and off and on everything from your db boxDoes that mean my switch was fried? Anyone encounter similar issue and may i know how to rectify it? |

QUOTE(Fubar20 @ Nov 2 2020, 11:06 AM) I already installed both the samba share and ssh addons, I want to access it because aren't the codes stored in that folder?https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/broadlink/ The learned codes are stored in the /configuration/.storage folder in a file called broadlink_remote_xxxxxxxxxxx_codes.json. You can open this file with a text editor and copy the codes to set up a custom switch, but beware: the files in the .storage folder should never be edited manually. I managed to "learn" the codes but I cant see the actual code. |

QUOTE(Fubar20 @ Nov 2 2020, 11:57 AM) Er, you never used samba before? I legit don't see it With Samba installed, you can access the .storage folder from your PC or Mac. https://imgur.com/a/7ETNGKJ If its hidden, how do I change permission? Nevermind, I cant see it if I just open it like in the pic, but if I put the full address into the network folder, then it opens it. Thanks anyway. |

QUOTE(paanz_rulez @ Nov 10 2020, 09:48 AM) hi guys, Yea you probably will need two gateways unless you put it in between floors with switches that act as relays nearby. I have one for the first floor, and another for second and third floor with switches that act as relays nearby. I had issues with disconnections when I was only using one gateway. Using Aqara BTW with D1 switches.if plan to replace wall switch in double storey house, which one is better. Either smart switch for wifi or zigbee? for zigbee, might need two gateway since need for ground floor and 1st floor. how about wifi?does it congest? |
