I see people advising to use fan template, right now I have managed to learn the IR commands, I know what the commands are, I can create one off buttons for a single IR code, but how to merge all the speeds? I don't see examples online.
Hi all sifu. New here and my house will be ready next year. currently surveying the smart home appliances.
Please bear with me if this is a stupid question cause i have totally no idea on smart home.
Do i just buy devices like Google home or alexa, and then make sure my light bulbs and some other home appliances is 'smart' and install a motor for curtain. Then i will be able to voice control them?
Noob friendly way is that, buying products compatible to a platform (I would recommend Alexa), buy the switches or bulbs etc and pair them with your Alexa account and you configure how you want them to work, and yes you can use voice control for those stuff.
is mihome compatible with alexa? or aqara app can?
For aqara I know it doesn't support switches, only some sensors if I am not mistaken. But there are ways to get them all working (home assistant) but that is not a noob friendly.
this url and better split into smaller value per shipment below rm500 if possible. don't be like me kena ketam
Thanks will check them out, I have already made two big shipments more than that, other than sales tax, nothing else right? I have been using comgateway.

I am new to this as well and would like to understand why Alexa is recommended compared to Google? Is it because of Alexa can be supported across more products?
No easy way. Perhaps you can tap the thermostat on water tank and calibrate to the actual temperature related to the current flow through the thermostat.
Bummer, might have to use some weather logic then.
Looking for similar solution, all my sensors and switches are connected to China server, I think my gateway is bought from china IIRC. Now thinking to switch to Malaysia server as the China server is really slow when trying to access on my phone with unifi. Sometimes I can't even refresh the app to remote control my lights.
Anyone having same slow response issue with China server? Edit: what is the max equipment to connect to one single gateway? Thinking to expand with more switches and sensor and may need additional gateway.
Also, if I change to aqara gateway with homekit support, do I still need to link to China server?
Homekit is local so no its not slow. But you will still have to pair to some server to get it into your app first and paired with the hub and then you import it to HomeKit.
I was using Aqara to. HomeKit directly but now its Aqara to Home Assistant then to HomeKit.
I wish ask abt the hub/ gateway, as I'm still confuse abt this Smart home concept, when it comes to AQARA or MIJIA?
1. Which one I should get if I don't know how to read Chinese? AQARA or MIJIA
2. How do know which server that I should connect the hub/ gateway to? It is region dependent?
Recently I bought a Google Home Nest.
Thanks in advance.
I personally went with Aqara. You don't have to know the language as the app will be in English even if you buy the Chinese version of whatever smart device.
I wanted to ask about ip camera, so far I used few Ip camera. DLink 942L, DLink 936L, Xiaomi 360 camera (bought from IOI City mall Mi Store), Ezviz C6CN 720p. All has detection area selection (in grids), but the issue is the notifications are delayed. I dont get instant notifications.
Among these few, I think Ezviz not bad. It has active tracking as well. Cheap price as well. Just only the notifications come late.
Is there any inexpensive and good notification speed IP camera to introduce? If can link to Nest Hub, lagi best. I'm looking to buy one to put at my shoe cabinet area. Anyone come to my grille will have motion detected and start recording.
Another thing is these IP camera recording is very very short. As i remembered, the most is also 30 seconds only. Is there any longer ones?
You are using the battery powered ones? Defo will have delay.
Want to ask, anyone using Rubine ceiling fans? Want to use Wifi Infrared signal but the brand couldnt be found. Not sure what other altarnative brands that use similar infrared signal with Rubine. There are a lot a lot of brands to test one by one.
Hope there is Rubine ceiling fan users here that managed to set
If it is infrared you could get an infrared blaster to get your remote signal and you will be able to control your fan from your phone.
Hi, any homekit or google home user here (planning to use these 2) can share experience of:
Just curious.... n wan to make sure b4 investing into these system....
Situation: Say i am the person who set up the system, so every room i can gain access to their smart device n smart switches.... but once setup completed, eveything is running properly, n say my sis wanted to gain access to her own room and other common places, can i set access limitation for user? (privacy matter) like so that i cant control on her room's smart devices, and she cant control mine?
Not sure about google, but that's a problem with HomeKit, I can't have my users be able to simply say turn MY lights and fan on or off, so I have every fan and light in the house have a unique name which is usually tied to the room, so Master Fan, Master Light 1 etc. But no real complaints larh my users have gotten used to it or only use the app to control or not bother at all with the smart features.
Sorry, new to this.....does tat mean if ur room is master room, n ur allowed user can control all includes Master room smart appliances as well? or u can juz allocate/restrict to room 1 or room 2 saja?
I am using Home Assistant and HomeKit as well as Alexa. So I can ask Siri or Alexa to turn on or off whatever I want, and I have announcement triggers that you can see from the first HomeKit page that notifies everyone of something. There is no restrictions, people can choose to control other peoples stuff but because its separated into rooms already, people won't be doing that unless they want to kacau you.
Question, I’m checking smart curtain but i need to go with Tuya motor so mostly dont come with rails... i need to buy the curtain rail separately is the attachment to the motor standard size/design i dont want the rail not compatible with motor
This also could be an option if you don't want to change the rail, there is a Zemismart version of this also which is cheaper if I am not mistaken.
wanna ask regarding smart RGB LED strip controller, got such thing? from ewelink? or any other brand?
You can use a NodeMCU or any ESP8266 device with WLED or ESPHome flashed on it. I am currently working on installing 17m in length led strips as ceiling cove lighting.
