It's a collaboration between Honeywell and Xiaomi https://xiaomi-mi.com/news-and-actions/xiao...-new-detectors/
Don't think xiaomi had that yet, dual Ionization & Photoelectric Smoke Alarm, maybe in future.

Oh ya, true about putting the camera in bedroom, I put the camera in bedroom to monitor my baby but it is not on all the time, so it is safe, only when necessary.

Ever thought of going for a baby cam? Cause they transmit sound also. So u carry the receiver with u and go do your cooking etc then when baby makes a noice u can talk to him to sooth him before making your way up there...

Ya true, the camera that I put on master bedroom carry sound both ways too and 360% turn, compare with baby cam, it is much more cheaper.

Anyone using Xiaomi Mijia smart home?

Sharing my smart home setup.

Adding 2 more devices (Smoke and Gas detector) to complete my DIY smart home. As of today, I have about 40 connected devices to 3 of my Xiaomi Smart Home Gateway. For surveillance, I have set up 3 cameras, 1 at car porch, 1 at staircase and 1 at bedroom, still need more of this and thinking of getting xiaofang camera. For alarms system, all doors and windows are equipped with doors/windows sensor and human sensor. Some others usage of human sensors are to turn on light at specific time when someone pass by at staircase, study room, kitchen and master bedroom.

The only thing that left is smoke and gas detector, thought of getting this for a long time. It wasn’t easy buy this as it is not available for sale in xiaomi website, I bought it taobao from a seller. So far, the quality is good, never had any doubt with Xiaomi products. With the smoke and gas detector, it will complete my smart home system and keep my family safe and peace of mind when going out.

The only drawback Xiaomi Smart Home is it can't work with ifft. The gateway can only work with Xiaomi product. The best part is the price, before I bought Xiaomi I have compared with Samsung smartthings, smartthings is too expensive and sensor that works with smartthings are too pricey. A smartthings gateway can buy 4 to 5 Xiaomi gateway.

Which one? Gateway or the smoke or gas detector? Everything I get from taobao.com or tmall.com, do search for Xiaomi smart home. If u are not familiar with the 2 sites, u can get from lelong.com.my, but price is more expensive compared u buy directly from China.

Have you tried pairing it with homeassistant?
Saw an active thread on their forum about connecting it to xiaomi gateway, as well switch/yi lights etc.

No, havent try that yet, I think the Mi Home App is sufficient to me, I have everything connected in 1 single apps.
Aqara Switch, Yeelight, Wifi Socket, wireless switch and Mi Cloud Wifi router.

Maybe will try that if I wanna addon other devices to the gateway which is not Xiaomi products.

smartthings is expensive if you use their sensors, but smartthing can work with most devices, including xiaomi zigbee devices, I have few xiaomi temp, contact and motion sensors working with smartthings, smartthings also work with Alexa, gogole home, IFTTT.

How much did you get for the xiaomi aqara wall switch(2 gang)?
Can it be paired directly to smartthings or needs to pair with the xiaomi hub first?
Do you have use any 3/4 gang wifi switch at your home?

Thanks for the information, in term of ecosystem, smartthings is better because it can connect with others brand devices, maybe in future will try it out if smartthings is more affordable.

The agara wireless switch RM66 and agara wall socket switch is RM127, bought it from tmall, the price not include shipping to Malaysia, but roughly rm20-rm30 for shipping.
I am not sure about pairing to smartthings as I do not have smartthings, it must be pair with xiaomi gateway first.
Yes, the reason to have the agara wall socket switch is to control the light and fan in master bedroom from the bed, no need additional wiring because the distance from bed to the socket is quite far, with this, it save cost not to do wiring and wall hacking just to connect the wiring to the bed. The other reason is when go overseas, I can set the light to turn on at specific time and off at specific time to make it like someone is in the house to prevent theft.

Not sure about other, so far I have no problem with setup, maybe because pairing qith same brand. Smart home is about automation, if you need to keep doing it manually or fixing it, it is not right, set once and forget it, also those wireless switch is for convenient where u can control many devices with just a click.

I found out i seldom log in the app to power up or off, novelty wears off

for the aircon, im using vera , only some primary functions
in the app u can control the temperature, but from alexa, i cant seem to do that, so only power up and off

Lighting I use sensor to turn on light on staircase between 7pm till 8am and will on the light when someone pass by using 2 human sensor, one down stairs and 1 upstairs. It will turn off after 1 mins. For kitchen and bedroom, turn on gateway light when it is dark using human sensor, good for when u go to kitchen to get a drink or wake up at night to go toilet as it only turn on when it is dark.
For Alarms, all human sensor and doors windows sensor are uses and will siren all 3 gateway if door/window open or human sensor detect movement. The alarms will turn on at 12am daily and off 6am daily, just have to remember to off if u need to open door at midnight.
For smoke and gas detector, it is for safety purposes, hopefully it will not be turn on and if it really turn on, it may help save my family from fire or gas explosion.
For light and fan in bedroom, due to distance from the wall switch, it is alternative solution to have on off switch close to bed. Also I have a wireless switch at study room to control, fan, light and exhaust fan with single click to on everything, double click to only on fan and light and hold click to close everyrhing.
For CCTV, yup, only for monitoring purposes and does not need to connect to gateway, it is standalone device but can be use to monitor movement and send notification to phone or activate other devices, so far didn't use as human sensor is more realiable.

Seldom use phone to on off the light fan and etc, the phone is only for me to on off alarms and look at CCTV.
