Their automation culture is different. It is a close tech. Or said only in japan and not user friendly for beginner. Language and advance of the Japanese is the barrier.

That is why they can’t dominate the world. They try to export the Japanese way of automation out. But failed to know that majority of the rest of the world are not that advance thinking.

So they only able to dominate industrial level.

I have yet to receive my Dot 3rd Gen but comparing the loudness of Dot 2nd Gen & Google mini, the mini wins but sound quality seems the Dot more refine.

Quite impressed with Alexa English voice which suits the India subcontinent

I find google Home better in answering general questions. I also like the voice better. To me the echo dot 2nd gen is a bit robotic. 3rd gen dot on the way so can’t test yet.

I hate saying hey google or ok google. I prefer saying Alexa or you can set it to Computer (like Star Trek)

Adding devices is a lot easier using Alexa cause all done automatically, just add the skill. Google Home app is a farking mess even the latest version.

If you got Chromecast you gonna want Google Home to on/off your TV or control YouTube videos.
If you get the 3rd gen dots it uses a US plug type power so that could be a problem. Need to get an adapter

Anyway bottom line both got pros and cons so buy both 😁

even the mini wireless button (square) got new version but that one has a new part number which helps - WXKG12LM
