Here my proposal to start with small project for my bathroom located inside master bed room. My attention is to switch on the light ( down light) using the door sensor.

1) aqara smart light switch
2) xioami door sensor
3) xiomi gateway

What do you think , any thing i should replace or add for better control

You mean once the bathroom door open, the light is on? Then unless you bath with door open, you will be showering in the dark

Probably just use PIR sensor. Once detect human body heat, turn on the light depending on the bathroom brightness. Not sure why you need to have control through gateway though.

Hahaha you right, i do not think when i close the door to take shower, the light will off, hahaha funny. So how, my attention is to light the bathroom when i enter the bathroom, close the door and the light still on while im insde there and will switch off when i going out.

Gonna need some extra device and setting when turning off light.
Like having motion sensor so the light switch stays on when someone's inside.
You could set 1 minute timeout to turn off lights when there's no motion after you exit bathroom.

Anyone got better ideas?

I believe that there are PIR motion detector sensor. It is much better than motion detector. It senses body heat and motion, preventing false trigger. Some has integrated time base as well. Time to go home, no time to search

No need to use door sensor switch

Just use PIR sensor.

If you shit stand still, the light will off.

Haha...I don’t completely close my door when I take shower. The main reason is to prevent getting lock inside the bathroom. You know I already heard so many ppl got lock inside their bathroom because the lock rosak

I even put a screwdriver inside my bathroom just in case 😅

Hahaha you very funny, i just laugh when i read your reply. Hmm in that case the door sensor still can be use, mean when you enter no need to close the door in full.


Look like the PIR suggestion is good,

Sonoff touch will use at room and living hall since bathroom do not have socket plug to pull the neutral
