QUOTE(alucard89 @ May 23 2024, 01:34 PM) Getting this door soon, which aqara or tuya lock compatible with HA for this nice door, this is highest security door with top and bottom lock.![]() ![]() I’ve been using deadbolt lock for the longest time so not really familiar with this type of lock Also, anyone using wifi track lights (not zigbee or bt) unfortunately, ur door using customised mortise lock. so far i didnt see any smart lock for this kind of lock i did saw few video at xiaohongshu with this lock type. to install smart lock, they hv to seal the top and bottom lock. beware before u upgrade, make sure u buy the same measurements of ur mortise lockset to avoid drill bigger hole. good thing is ur door thickness should be ok. |

QUOTE(alucard89 @ May 23 2024, 09:24 PM) Got link for that lock with custom mortise? u got 2 choices for smart lock.Basically top & bottom lock just disabled right since they don’t really support those So i might need to resort to something like switchbot lock? 1. Easy: change the Euro Cylinder to smart. No need touch ur lockset. 2. Hard: change the mortise lockset + smart door panel. for (2), just go to Aliexpress look for any Tuya lock. they hv almost all measurements for mortise lock |

QUOTE(alucard89 @ May 23 2024, 09:53 PM) No 1 seems interesting, so basically make the keyhole or the euro cyclinder smart. i really cant recommend, coz my initial plan was to use (1) but ended up using full features smart lock.So even that is compatible with this mortice lock, got recommendation? there r 2 type for this. 1. zigbee tuya - (i think no motor, can only see status on ur phone) i could be wrong. 2. ble mesh tuya - full feature both required hub, zigbee or bluetooth (ble mesh) for (2), dont waste ur time with number lock, just use rfid/nfc/fingerprint |

QUOTE(azbro @ Jun 30 2024, 01:06 PM) Hi, anyone knows what sensor to detect open close for outdoor autogate Swing type. it seem like ur sensor is not level, u can try to add padding to increase the thickness.I'm using Sonoff ewelink door sensor and doesn't do so well as there will be multiple detection when gate open close Currently I connect the gate like this: [attachmentid=11498228] [attachmentid=11498230] side question, how u mount the sensor to the stainless steel? i hv hard time drilling and then the plastic plug doesnt work... |

QUOTE(yrh0413 @ Jul 3 2024, 01:11 PM) hi everyone. May I know how to make autogate (folding gate) "smart"? my house has Aqara/Apple Homekit setup, does the Aqara T1 relay works in this case? QUOTE(azbro @ Jul 3 2024, 04:10 PM) A few methods have, and you really need to do your homework to make sure it will work for your autogate. yes this one the easiest.Mine was simple, is using the 330mhz bandwidth remote. So, to keep it simple, I bought a smart dongle that transmits that signal and works with the app I am using. [attachmentid=11498463] Its no brainer and no need to do any wiring. But, I'm not sure if this will work for you. Another method is to use the plug ins into the auto box to control it Or using a finger bot. Or switch module for low current or DC type Autogate have many types but before u commit, make sure u know which RF frequency ur autogate use. there r 2 standard 330 and 433MHz and some RF code were not fixed code, they use rotation code. if use rotation code, then this will not work and u will need to add esp chip on ur auto gate controller |

QUOTE(andyeng @ Jul 19 2024, 05:50 PM) Can anyone recommend a reliable, high-quality smart lock for a condo gate and an indoor door that lasts long? i dont think any of it good...because of this 2 things. 1. Battery will expire regularly 2. Motor will wear out even the famous lock manufacturer Yale have quality issue because they r not electronic manufacturer. samsung good in electronics, also suffer from lock and plastic body issue. philips and many more using proprietary apps, not for long term. this is reality... i use china lock, getting myself ready to upgrade every 5 to 10years. but if u got money, i think can consider Samsung and Philips This post has been edited by lucaswjk: Jul 19 2024, 06:52 PM |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 24 2024, 10:09 PM) My previous auto gate relay... few month ago, i bought few of this.12V battery --> 12v to 5v USB device --> Athom relay board. The 12v to 5v USB adaptor melted... Using Aqara T2 now, the inching feature is bugged at the moment. When enable inching, the switch remains turned on... doesn't turn off. So I had to do automation manually to turn it off using homekit. to stepdown the 12v to 5v https://my.shp.ee/eKNXBo8 im not sure if i needed to stepdown the inching "power" for the esp32 gpio or not, actually planned to connect this to the radio module. havent got time to do research This post has been edited by lucaswjk: Jul 24 2024, 10:29 PM |

QUOTE(azbro @ Jul 26 2024, 04:09 PM) I agree 100% on this. So far ZigBee has never disconnected on me. But WiFi is like often. Whatever products that has ZigBee version, should get it instead of WiFi. my sonoff flased with tasmotai. few devices that low signal will disconnect once every few months. If wanna get WiFi better go for brand. My WiFi Sonoff lights so far no issue, but Woolley light like stupid like that, keeps disconnecting every few days. now set to auto reconnect seem to solved the issues. i personally think zigbee is good too, but in few years time it going to be replaced with Thread/Matter. now it is stil very new and less device available. at the end, wifi will survive... QUOTE(alucard89 @ Jul 27 2024, 05:06 PM) Finished adding wifi direct control to all my ac, not relying on ir this time. any special features u planned to configure? All you need is esp8266 with some jst cable & connect to port on your ac pcb (check your diagram) You can add this to your homebridge and ha. Total cost is around rm12-14 per ac Daikin (cn_wir port) Jst cable 2.0 https://my.shp.ee/ZYRNff2 Faikin https://github.com/Sonic-Amiga/ESP8266-Faikin Wiring - cn_wir port specifically because it’s scattered in the github repo. If yours is built in wifi module model just remove that cable from the port. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Mitsubishi Electric (cn105 port) PAP jst cable https://my.shp.ee/vwE85Ut Mitsubishi2mqtt https://github.com/dzungpv/mitsubishi2MQTT For tuya, you can order this module from thailand https://shopee.co.th/product/27525505 And that’s it, should save you 500 from sensibo or other devices. Obviously daikin has their own app, but not exactly open source. And mitsubishi electric has kumo cloud but they don’t exactly use it here. For other brands, you can just google it, i noticed panasonic, midea, haier has non cloud esp solution. |

QUOTE(eagle7 @ Sep 11 2024, 10:57 PM) In fact, you can get the Enterprise feature with a consumer router by flashing the factory firmware to 3rd party firmware, such as OpenWRT. I'm huge fans of openwrt, dd wrt and tomato... and flash alot wrt54g.Not all routers support OpenWRT, but you can check from this link: https://openwrt.org/toh/start Currently I am using 2x Xiaomi Redmi Router AC2100 (6x antenna; 2x CPU core, 128MB RAM, 128MB Flash), with each router costing less than RM140 (after discount) and configured to mesh setup. With OpenWRT, you have total control of your router, including regular security updates, feature add-ons/customizations, etc. super stable during torrents era. now I'm using asus original firmware, no need flash coz it was based on merlin. my personal experience... when connect to too many devices it still not stable. I suspect it is hardware issue. just my 2cents |

mistake
#1 cctv using wifi, a dozen of it will make u cry. get PoE camera + PoE switch (2 units), learn to calculate the watt first #2 IoT not friendly with mesh wifi. lay cat6 cable for secondary ap, it is cheap no comment on dlink nor tenda, u can try. but u might want to upgrade later |
