QUOTE(yfyap69 @ Aug 14 2020, 11:28 AM) I m using DCMoto. I had connected a 4 channels wifi module to the remote and also done adding a 1 channel wifi module direct into the dcmoto control box. PM me if interested. Will do thanks mate. QUOTE(Fubar20 @ Aug 14 2020, 11:52 AM) Just get the bolded part above and DIY yourself. Cost around RM 30, self satisfaction priceless....... Didn't see the ones that were using DCmoto, I did use the search bar haha. Thanks mate! |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Aug 15 2020, 11:24 AM) hello. i'm noob in smart home devices. just bought the smart power switch and looking to venture more. Well if you get smart switches, you can make your fans. lights etc smart. And like above, you can make your autogate (if you have one) smart too. what are some common and popular smart electrical appliances that can be controlled with tuya smart life app? Right now i have some smart water features, smart water heater, multiple smart switches that have some sort of automation, multiple IR blasters that make devices like my fan AC and tv etc smart ish, right now just planning to make the gates smart. QUOTE(TongCN @ Aug 18 2020, 11:54 AM) All right, next is to hunt from reputable seller first for the Tuya IR Blaster (UFO-R1). What about Broadlink? I am using the RM4c and also RM4Pro but not using the app. Seems fine, so far the implementation i have used for my room use case is perfect for me. Fan speed control and AC on and off with my settings. I have yet to play much with the Pro, but i am planning to also use that to put whatever channels i want etc.Or any recommendation from you guys? Thanks for the clarification TongCN liked this post

QUOTE(cablesguy @ Aug 18 2020, 06:56 PM) Can try this, not the cheapest but its local and support is good. Could be, i had to get one of units replaced because it wasnt getting detected by the app.The replacement had no issues.https://shopee.com.my/product/140301560/2402432786 I bought a few and I feel theyre all a little faster than Broadlink, which hangs sometimes, or maybe my unit is faulty, Im not sure. |

QUOTE(TongCN @ Aug 21 2020, 03:14 PM) Hmm ... now holding back again back to Tuya Universe remote or Broadlink , haha.. Well depending on your expertise or use case, you dont even need to use the app.For normal usage like IR those, i think Tuya (UFO) can do better right with tat pricing? Anyone concern about the security of the app actually ? |

QUOTE(TheLegend27 @ Aug 24 2020, 10:20 AM) wanna ask is there any cylinder only smart lock? that can fit on existing. Not sure if its what you're asking but I think Level Lock can do that? Or August lock. I am considering these two.1 type is for grille door, need unlock from inside and outside. ![]() 1 is for main door, need unlock from outside only. inside don't need. ![]() |

QUOTE(xbotzz @ Aug 29 2020, 12:09 AM) Thanks.. I should have posted here first and your response would have got me exploring the flashing method with sonoff instead of getting the Broadlink RM4. What did you use for your gate? Sonoff relay or NodeMCU with relay?Anyway, all is working fine so far. I got my autogate to respond to GA and that has got me thinking. Maybe I can get some app is compatible with IFTTT to sense my car location from GPS and get GA to open the gate. As of now, I am toying with my CCTV. Initially I was like just get those HIKvision WiFi cameras but I got itchy. I want to just be lazy and say "hey Google show me side camera". It should cast it to my TV. This is my current project. I just set up a cheap NAS storage going. Dlink router with usb3 connected to a HDD dock(1TB). I know GA works with Xiaomi CCTV and I can cast it to Chromecast. There is a couple of Xiaomi CCTV models that support NAS storage. I am testing with another Xiaomi CCTV(the magnetic ip67) version and I am not happy with the load time with Xiaomi home app. Might end up scrapping Xiaomi cams and explore other NAS supported smart CCTV. I also do not want to buy a Chromecast first and testing with Miracast(which I have) but my GA can't cast to Miracast. Just fiddling with this for now. Anyway I am rambling as these are just testing. Will post if I get a decent system going. Good community/experts u have here. Keep it up |

QUOTE(CrazyGrandpa @ Sep 1 2020, 11:45 PM) anyone using aqara smart switch ? I have been using 2 for a month now, no issues so far. I have installed the neutral one in most areas as there are AC switched which i can tap the neutral from. 1 thing i notice is that the no neutral switches, have like a 1 second delay for the first action (so like lets say you say turn this light on, there will be a 1 sec delay, but if you ask to turn it off or turn another light on, on the same switch, there isnt a delay, i am guessing it takes 1 sec to kinda "wake up").I read many reviews and most of them are saying without neutral line will be easily spoiled. Any owner here can share your experience ? |

Which is better for announcements? Echo Dot or Home Mini, if i am using HA?
I have seen this for Home https://github.com/Apipa169/Assistant-Relay-for-Hassio Anyone have experience with this? So far right now i have a Wemos D1 Mini that plays a sound (through a speaker) when i want it to for alerts but i think i want something more polished. |

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Sep 6 2020, 05:44 PM) Google home can't read corporate email (or maybe include gmail) I am not gonna be using it for emails or reading notifications out aloud, just want to announce if someone is at the door or broadcast a message to other speakers or drop in (i have seen this on echo but havent seen the google implementation of it). And i am not using either for their smart home compatibility as i am mainly using the apple home app (homekit).smart home devices compatibility, Amazon win natural speech, AI and future proof....Google win now I select Amazon first, 5years later decide again |

QUOTE(wailing81 @ Sep 9 2020, 10:27 AM) hi, sorry for my noob question. Yes, Which seller are you buying from? When I searched for it, the switches are usually the Chinese one, there isn't any difference imo. Yes you can mix, you can also use Singapore server. If i purchase an aqara D1 smart wall switch (malaysia version), can i mix it with chinese version and connect to china server? thanks. |

QUOTE(wailing81 @ Sep 9 2020, 01:15 PM) i bought some from taobao previously. Dont think there is a Malaysian server. My switches are all Chinese (bought from vision gadgetry), but I am connected to Singapore server instead of the Chinese one.need more now and think of just buy from shopee the official aqara shop there said connect to malaysia server, and some seller said china server only. |
