I already am using HA. My confusion is that they're not using a Zigbee Coordinator Stick, but an actual branded hub (Xiaomi) to connect with other brands.

link to the device? probably it meant that xiaomi hub that can connect to some Aqara/ Yeelight devices? sweat.gif

Is there anything i nid to take note while buying aircond which can link to voice control n smart system? Since aircond got so much button n control instead of just On/Off button.

Urm, stay away from Hisense and its wifi-kit. Its unusable and not able to pair with the Hisense app, lodge a complain to Hisense Malaysia and never received a solution for 2 months

This quite lousy, very often dead and have to pair again, Zigbee version.
*
I'm using some of these and I noticed they are often slow to respond or disconnected sometimes. I originally thought its because they were the furthest switches away from the zigbee router and coordinator, now it seems like others are having similar issue too

i have just get myself a google nest mini and planning to get a smart IR remote control to pair with it. Currently looking at SMATRUL IR remote control device. however, i am not sure does it able to pair with my FAN or soundbar system. Any advice on this?

i guess my deka FAN is using RF, however this SMATRUL dint indicate is RF can be link or not.
*
The Smart IR control will replace infrared remote controls, it will not work with RF remotes. You will need to pair the Smart IR control with Tuya Smart Life app, then connect the Smart Life app in Google Home. I am able to turn on/off & control the fan speed of the aircond in Google Home but no option to set the temperature

what happen to tuya smart life? it's now tuya smart and smart life?

tuya smart by tuya inc

smart life by volcano technology (i swear this was tuya last time)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...ife&hl=en&gl=US

I wasn't even aware of the changes. All of my WiFi smart plugs are still connected when it asked me to login to the app again. Even before that I had no trouble turning on/off these smart plugs through Tuya Integration in Home Assistant

They must still be using Tuya API but not sure about the future of it though

I started using Tuya Zigbee smart plugs (model detected by Z2M is BSD29_1, I believe its just another variant of the TS011F) to monitor the power consumption of my pc and server. However I noticed that the Energy entity of these smart plugs are not very reliable, as in the value will stop updating until I unplug then reinsert into the power socket.

I can still turn on/off the LED on the smart plug via Home Assistant and its pretty responsive, just that the Energy value is not updating. Is there any changes I can do to make the value update reliably? Or should I invest in other replacement?

When it comes to power monitors, go for wifi. The Tuya Zigbee ones often just stop working because of the voltage spiked to 250V
Personally would go for Shelly 1 Plus PM, i have 5 of them, wish i got more during black friday.

Actively trying to lower power consumption of this one PC LOL

Just found out on Z2M's github that there's issue with this particular model caused by a fix that reports 0 value on other tuya zigbee devices.

The voltage spike should not be an issue as the socket is connected to a voltage regulator.

Hi Everyone,

I'm relatively new to the Smart Home world and am hoping to get some advice.

I've a handful of Xiaomi products all connected to a local server, as well as a bunch of Tuya and Zigbee plugs and sensors that connect to Alexa.

I'm considering getting a couple of New Widetech/Xiaomi dehumidifiers , but their region is Mainland China only.

Can anyone suggest what the best and/or easiest option would be to include them into my smart home network?

Would using the Dual App function on an Android device (a POCO phone) be a workaround?
*
I'm using the xiaomi cctv and a few yeelight on Malaysia region Mihome, then I added another China region Mihome using dual-app and added the deye dehumidifier to the china region app

someone in this thread actually calculated the amp required by aircon.
it is actually doable.

but i wont recommend this, aircon unit is considered high power electric device. if ur plug unable to deliver sufficient power, u might risk burning ur aircon.

also most of the socket hv different 3 pins.
not sure u saw before, the pins are round one .
this is to prevent ppl from use the plug, especially in bathroom.

yep, found the 20A with power monitoring ones, pending seller to reply with setup guide and the attributes

hi guys,

wanna ask you guys a question, since this is a smart home thread and most of you know the interweb well. Im using maxis router and mesh units for my home. ( i know i know, haha).

If i update the firmware ( i have the file) for the router and mesh units, it wont erase any settings that i had previously right?

Thanks in advance
*
this question better ask in Lowyat WiFi Router Discussion thread -> https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4658096/+5500

but firmware update should not affect anything, at least that's what my Asus router does

I wonder has anyone tried adding 2 PIR sensors to 1 WiFi light?

If PIR sensor detect movement it will ON, if no detect it will OFF

So if 1 PIR is ON, the other remains off is easy.

But if 1 both sensors is ON,  1 is still detecting movement and remains ON, but the other sensor after 1 minute is OFF, will the light remain ON or OFF? I want it to remain ON.

Or is it need to do some conditioning.
Example if sensor is still detecting movement, sensor 2 will not off the light. Wow..this is getting complicated for me. I'm just using the simple ewelink app, I don't think can do that.
*
Can the scene to turn off the light based on the state of 2 different sensors?

Hi, any WiFi 2.4Ghz router to recommend for smart home?

Extended range and at least 60 connections.

I try best to use ZigBee stuff instead of WiFi, but things just keep adding up.  All those CCTV also using 2.4Ghz. my current router I think gonna max out soon as stuff gets disconnected many times

My house currently using 300mbps Unifi DIR X3060Z.

Any router to recommend to bridge to to my current router?

Thank you
