Updated Sonoff POW firmware version to 2.0.4 just now early morning.
Maybe connection to China server at night got throttled and hence keep dropping. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Feb 1 2018, 10:17 PM) It can work standalone even without the gateway unit.Without the gateway unit, you just don't have smartphone notification if alarm triggered. The gateway has a microphone to listen to smoke detector beep. So in such a way that, if your gateway got hacked, the hacker can listen your house. First day energy usage recorded for my fridge is around 1.158kWh.
From Panasonic spec page, mentioned 430 kWh/year or 1.178 kWh/day From Suruhanjaya Tenaga, 394 kWh/year or 1.079 kWh/day So looks like I am getting the power consumption that is roughly within expected range. This post has been edited by alexander3133: Feb 2 2018, 06:32 PM |

Day 2 of using Sonoff POW to monitor refrigerator power consumption.
I noticed that Sonoff app now showing 0 watt when my refrigerator is in idle. When I first saw 0 watt while at work, I was worry that some wire connection got loose after Sonoff side and hence no power goes to my refrigerator. So I quickly turn on my CCTV app to check it out, luckily the refrigerator is still on. But how come it is showing 0 watt instead of 3 watt on 1st day? When compressor is running, the Sonoff app now showing 64 watt, versus 66 watt or 67watt on first day. What could be the problem? The Sonoff POW device offset by -3 watt? Addition: Observed my refrigerator now consume as high as 126 watt after one time open fridge door for about 10 seconds. Edit again: After idle from the high energy consumption, the idle power usage is now shown as 3W, therefore previously my refrigerator did consumed less than 1W when idle sometimes. QUOTE(ozak @ Feb 2 2018, 09:12 AM) So it work without the Xiaomi hub. But no Smartphone notification or the apps ? Can confirm this. Cause without apps pop out notification, it is useless for me. Since I already have the independant smoke alarm. QUOTE(alexander3133 @ Feb 2 2018, 09:43 AM) I just tested the Xiaomi Smoke alarm.Burnt paper and let the smoke out. Regardless of the Xiaomi gateway, the smoke alarm still works. 1st I test with Xiaomi gateway on, 2nd I tested with gateway turned off, both case the smoke alarm working fine. Giving out very loud beep. Just that without gateway, there will be no smartphone notification. The English translation in Mijia app still need refinement. QUOTE(idoblu @ Feb 3 2018, 11:05 AM) how to clear/stop the alarm? If really got fire or smoke happened, you would want the smoke alarm to keep beeping until you get notified.can use the app to stop it? dun tell me i have to push the little button on the smoke detector.... When the Xiaomi smoke alarm get triggered, it will send out loud beep, the gateway will also play emergency sound, so two devices get sounded. That time I was testing, as long as the smoke alarm didn't detect any smoke, it will stop beeping after a while. You can stop the gateway emergency sound by pressing the button on the gateway. The little button on the smoke alarm is to test the smoke alarm if it is working with the gateway. |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Feb 9 2018, 09:29 AM) Yes, my developer also did the same. You just have to find out which wire is for which, then label it. I use multimeter to identify which two wires goes out to the door bell switch, then only I install the doorbell. So you want wireless doorbell or what? |
