Skyforge

Skyforge is a free-to-play 3rd-person action-MMORPG(massively multiplayer online roleplaying game) developed by the Mail.ru Group's Allods Team in collaboration with Obsidian Entertainment and published by Mail.Ru and its subsidiary My.com for selected markets. The project has been in development since 2010 and the first Closed Beta Test was opened to selected players on March 11, 2015 for the PC, with the NA and EU servers currently available.

Gameplay

In Skyforge, player takes on a larger than life role as an immortal with incredible powers battling to protect their world from the armies of hostile gods, eventually becoming a god themselves. Character progression within the game is not level based. Instead of a traditional leveling format, Skyforge features a “prestige” system, which allows a player to advance based on the sum total of their stats and progression.

This system allows Skyforge players to develop and switch to multiple classes at any time, rather than being locked into an early game class choice like common MMOs. As a player gains more prestige, additional content, gear, and followers are unlocked. Once god mode is achieved Skyforge includes an additional progression system which allows users to manage their followers to increase their character's overall power.

Is anyone else playing this? Finally got into the CBT today and was excited as hell to give it a go, only to find out that the latency for this game seems to be horrendous. It skyrocketed up to 4k ms when I was in the little space station-like area after the rebirth and during missions, I was ping-ponging between 500-900ms :/

Mmm.. I dont have that Problem.. im always below 300.

I havent start coz i didnt buy founders pack. But when OBT launch will most probably try NA

im playing in NA cause the community always use English. in EU there is a lot of different language in the chat

how is the game guys? how is the pvp system>? got region block?

if can get more players when the obt start, we can make our own pantheon

so far its great, lots of things to do especially when you reach 2k prestige. i just entered pvp once which the rule is free for all and who get 10 points 1st win, the battle quite intense with everyone killing each other. i dont think there is region lock for malaysia, can play on both eu and na just fine.

only thing is the cap for sparks is quite low, some of the players already reach the cap. its a good thing to avoid the game become p2w since premium player will get resource faster than free player but there is cap to avoid premium player being too OP

Yeah, lets see. Currently there is no cash shop, everything can be bought using credits and we can convert credit to argents and vice versa.

its quite hybrid. there is center place with a globe, here you choose where you want to go. there is several type of places, squad(3man), dungeon(5man), raid(10man maybe), pvp battle and open world adventure which is basically quite huge open area where you do quest.

the thing i like with the quest is there is no npc to go fetch the quest, do what he ask, then go back to the npc. you automatic get the quest when nearing the quest area, after finish then get the reward and then you can move forward to other quest area.

now im spark capped at only 2 more nodes to get kinetic.

how about the ping? any lag?

hovers somewhere around 200~300 as usual. Very few spike here & there. the only lag i feel for me is the dmg output dealt on target. the rest like casting, dodging etc. feels okay despite clunky action on certain skill.

lag as in after ur atk hits the mob then the dmg only registered after a few secs?

i hope VPN can fixed the high ping.

the ping is like other mmo that server in US, about 200-300. there is no noticeable lag or delay

yea something like that...between the dmg figure pop up and the target HP drop, got abit lag there but not much. around maybe 0.XXXms. From cast to skill fx travel & hit mobs and numbers pop up, it was nice, albeit clunky... As far as i playtest, the lag i get is freeze type... have not encounter other type of lag like teleport or rubberbanding.

yea, is green level founder, i still very syukur liao yesterday zombie mode in the training room finally can testplay more thoroughly on the batch of class on left side... some class feels gooding to play. some got omphh. but the animation still need some fine-tuning... now it's like after you slash around, it will stay at that pose for awhile if you didn't press any other button.

ping atm hovers around 180~230... not bad for now... hope it stays that way when obt hit.

though i abit sad of my very short daily playhour due to rl... feels wasted for the premium timer (a status similar to Tera's Elite status system) that is currently running now.

Just tested the game a little bit during lunch break lol. gonna say im surprised at the connections, didnt feel any delay in input and execution at all. if only all western made mmorpgs are like that, i would be a happy gamer

wah not bad this game grafic also nice on my spec on medium..but a bit repetetive repetitive

tried.,.. nice but inconsistent smoothnes.. sudden 0.5sec freeze while running

PSOish to me. The lag does affect for melee. Combo need to be very accurate.

targeting necro. that class really... i don't even... the HP bar i see was no blue and the all the sudden poof! got blue bar ady.. huge chunk at that

yea, since the main focus of progression was your atlas. if you stick around longer you'll see the game getting more & more mechanic focused (at least this is wad i see as i progress...) and seems to be unforgiving. Have to get rid of the "tank & spank" and "spam all the skills" mentality.

My first few deaths was in [<forgot name> Catacombs] dungeon last boss. damn those falling rocks. most jilaka moment i get is when got rubble signs but the big rock didn't fall and i have to dash to nearest rock which is sometimes abit far.

first few repeat may/may not make you syok... after all it depends on individual. I find myself still repeating the dungeon mainly due to various class combi attempt the boss... and those le derp dpser moments like "shyt! boss on me now! need some shield!" and the Lightbinder will still whack the boss or "oi... i no hit/aim u for some time ady y u still aim me la boss!"

abit disappointed on the way heal orbs drop though. it makes some of the boss a dps race. and only limit to one person to pickup. which also indirectly limiting the mechanic execution, making it look and feels linear and predictable sequence...

i heard this game is too much repetitive for lvling and pvp is horrible. it is true?

yap.. same map sometime u can repeat same quest in that map u done before.. if like this i think i wan play 1 month only before get boring

gfx so cun.... but the story n quest so meh. repetitive grinding

Yeah, typical type of quest/grinding..being repetitive but its pretty ok the gameplay

White Knight answer :
every mmo nowadays oso repetitive. same shyt with different setting and environment. most game mechanic also abang adik. first several thousand of prestige abit boring since not much access. after that will start to see some content. (click the magnifier icon during globe view to see the list of instance and its prestige requirement)

Black knight answer :
yes. instead of grinding level, you grind for the skills and nodes. bloody awful. certain nodes cost more than others. que time for now is like shyt for certain prestige level until they relief some of the gap.

My answer :
typical grind with different term ie skill instead of level. repetitive yes, any mmo will have that, depends how grindy it will be. PvP never try it. Not fond of it anyway. PvE... albeit repetitive, the dungeon and boss fight will still be dangerous if not paying attention no matter how far you progress unless you pick a lower difficulty (will give lower reward or none at all) No facerolling, no tank & spank. Dodge is a must to exist in your vocabulary.

yeah, there's a pantheon for that fb group but it currently full iirc. they need to expend though

yeah they are like playing it fulltime.
