PJ Union still at that address? My friend told a different location, somewhere at section 14, near Tun Hussien Onn Eye Center, ground floor hall. Which is true? I have been to the one at Taman Paramount before...

Thanks for the clarification, guys. I thought as much. I remember going there for the first time just to have a look. It's free admission unless you play there, right?

My friend told me he played at the 'new' location a few times, with someone at the entrance collecting fee regardless if you are playing or just visiting. Sounds very strange to me... I think he may be talking about a new joint, somewhere near the section 14 rebuilding site (where JAYA Supermarket used to be). I've never heard of this one.

Sounds passable, I guess, for a novice. As long as you are comfortable with the price and feel of the combination. From my experience, China smooth rubbers better for fast/counter play, Japan smooth rubbers better for loop/range attack play. But that was a long time ago when China rubbers not so high quality. Nowadays, some China rubbers are in the same price range as others. Not sure about the quality though...

Like I said before, if you are comfy with the feel (grip + play style) and the price, then go ahead. Also, your pass experience can be taken into account, eg. preferred brands. If you are still unsure, I suggest get something affordable and move up from there slowly. Once you gain momentum/experience, then try something expensive (if not satisfied with the current equipment). In my opinion, you can never have too many bats. laugh.gif

Hurricane series is rather popular. Suitable for fast attack. Dawei... not so sure. In my case, a bat with extra materials (eg. carbon layer) that costs around 150, single rubber of around 80 should be sufficient for average players, like me. So total is somewhere around 300-350 (bat + 2 rubbers).

They have some butterfly products but Union mainly supplies Donic products. And yes, the coach will help you glue on your equipment. Do tell him whether you want to speed glue it or use water based glue. And the shop is opened the same time as the center is opened
