i'm not that familiar with the security systems as well only through magazines, etc.
but clifford seems to be one of the popular brands.. but i think the installation is more important as the more hidden or "unique" per installation it'll work better.. (eg. wirings are all black - stealth, hidden immobilizers, etc)

The best ever workmanship on installing alarm system is that the wiring and alarm module is totally hidden. Wiring will be conseal together with your OEM wiring and all wiring in same black color, so it look stock and confusing to the car thief. Alarm module will be hidden covering by sound proof material to make it as complicated as possible to the thief. biggrin.gif

oh.. since order edi then nvm la smile.gif

i'm using the stock alarm lor..
there's nothing in my car that is worth stealing anyways.. but my car has got broken into through the trunk to steal my laptop.. till now oso haven't replace the lock, but dismantled the cable to the lock..

my friend in penang has the cheetah immobilizer on top of the honda's security system.. meaning you need honda's immobilizer key and the card else can't drive the car.. so far no problem la.. but again, city ain't really a hot car for theft tongue.gif

immobilizer consist of transceiver and receiver..

the receiver is installed in your car and the transceiver is either a key or card which is embedded with an electronic chip with the random security key unique to your alarm.

without the transceiver key, even if u manage to start your car.. it'll cut off (depending what settings, can be the fuel pump, ignition, etc etc) after a few moments..

but if they really want your car, they'll get it anyways.. after all, if you can get it installed.. they can get it uninstalled/bypassed as well that's why installation is important to make the thief give it up or sufficient time for you to reach your car.. then you should be aware, next time come with tow truck tongue.gif

Eh, i thought if you add the tilt sensor, its design n meant to detect someone jacking or towing your car? So shock sensor is for someone bang your car or break your glass. Unless the car thief use some glass cutter without triggering the shock sensor, then there's where the motion/ultrasonic sensor come into action to detect moving object in the car.

Any state of the art alarm system still can be deactivate by the car thief since it's installed by human as well. But it's time delaying the car thief to get your car is all another matter. Stock OEM alarm like Cobra is good. Cobra's alarm is made high tech and good built quality. Cobra's alarm module circuit board is one of the best. But what make this OEM factory fitted alarm easy to be deactivated coz the car thief had done many research on the OEM wiring route and location of the alarm module in the car. Hence, they are ready/self prepared and can deactivate the alarm in just minutes. What make your alarm standout is the installation. I had seen some cars the alarm module is being hidden under the back seat of the car. Which car thief will thought of that? Even he manage to figure it out, it would oredi be like 30 mins or an hour after that. Car thief will give up on cars that take them too long to be stolen. Normally, anything longer than 10 or 15mins, the thief will give up and leave the car alone without taking the risk further. smile.gif

For rims, you can always use special lock nuts. Cheap ones from k-speed or some other taiwan brand. Good one from Enkei or Rays' Engineering lor. tongue.gif

Seriously, you'll regret if you set the shock sensor to be too sensitive. Coz if another Civic with B16A/B + loud spoon muffler pass by your car. Your alarm will trigger and send unnecessary sms to you. biggrin.gif

Dont freak out that much lar. EK isnt that popular in the car thief list. Be more worry about your accessories if you have stuff like nice headunit, amp, speakers, defi meters, apexi rsm, or apexi afc neo. tongue.gif
