hey guys..just got my hinge fix. its the top cover that fits the LCD screen. the 'kaki' between the hinge and main chasis longgar ady cant close the lid properly..longgar only the dell fella come and change the whole thing! now looks so brand new..old one calar teruk ady..replacement at the right time..haha 

anyway..a really great customer service from dell..called them 2 days ago den today come replace ady..the technician came all de way from ipoh..never regret getting a lapppy from them..for those who looking for a good laptop & great customer service..DELL is the answer..just a call away from all the services..no fuss~ 

btw the dell technician said almost every part of our lappy can be replaced FOC as long as the under CC. just need to call dell and report the problem..

out of topic, i'm sure some of the users have reformatted their laptop. my ques, do u guys still keep the dell media direct software? its only function is boot up the laptop to watch movie or play songs, right? how useful is it to u guys? thought want to use the 1.5gb space to add up to my c drive only. thanks

First of all many thanks to all 6400 users to kindly answer my questions, really appreciate it   

1. I think I'd most probably go with 80GB HDD and get myself another external one to be safe then.  Buying an external drive should be safer than upgrading the laptop's HDD, no? Btw, I have the Nov booklet from Dell that's valid till Dec 4 and they're offering T5500, but when I check online it's T2050? Also, I couldn't find the option to customise the graphic card online..

2. Yeap you're right they will partition 20GB to C and the rest to D drive, but you can choose if you want 40/60GB in C drive as well. Since it's really easy like you guys say then I'll attempt to do it myself. I can ask for help here if anything goes wrong

3. I definitely can wait since I'll be leaving next February, just thought of getting one now and play around with it first. I thought about PC fair because I heard they usually throw in extra stuff to attract people to buy? And it's good to look around at other brands like HP and Toshiba as well, though their prices are usually above my budget unfortunately. So for PC fairs they only accept cash huh? If that's the case then I'll most probably order through phone/online.

One last thing, my mom in US just e-mailed me and asked if this Toshiba system is worth it. After conversion it's quite cheap ($750=RM2850, offer=$650=RM2470). Compared to 6400, would this be a better deal?

Hi, is there any way to check if my laptop fan is working? How to check temperature of the internals? I'm a bit worried cause I never hear the fan and the bottom of the laptop is very hot.

i got dell laptop yesterday and i wanna transfer my files from my PC.. ok let me explain clearly..

my pc 192.168.1.2
my laptop 192.168.1.3
my gateway 192.168.1.1

i got a 4 ports SWITCH after i plug in all the cable for my dell laptop and my desktop pc i did set the Ip and same gateway and also enable files and sharing for C:\

i can online with both computer... The problems is my dell laptop can access my desktop pc.. and i can also do ping -t 192.168.1.2... but i cannot access from my desktop pc to my laptop.. even i do ping -t 192.168.1.3 but keep show no respone only.. i can take files from my desktop pc but i cannot take files from my laptop to desktop...

both of my laptop and pc firewall is off but laptop can ping pc but pc cannot ping laptop... weird 

all dell tai lou got any solutions? thankss
