QUOTE(Sotsotzaii @ Sep 4 2015, 10:30 AM) Got a question here, let's say if I want to focus a bigger part of it, or maybe almost the entire range, how do I do that? Because if I click or hold on the part I want to focus, it just focus on that small part. I'm assuming for landscape photography?Unfortunately not as the iPhone/most smartphones camera comes with a fixed wide aperture (in iPhone's case f/2.2), so you get very shallow depth of field. |

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Oct 19 2015, 01:08 PM) I'm assuming for landscape photography? Well f2.2 also depends on where you focus. Unfortunately not as the iPhone/most smartphones camera comes with a fixed wide aperture (in iPhone's case f/2.2), so you get very shallow depth of field. At 24mm with 2.2 the Hyperfocal distance is 28.1 ft, so you will not get extremely shallow DOF with iPhone camera when you photograph landscape. |

Plus you have to take sensor size into account. Small sensors really can't give you DOF as shallow as those from dedicated cameras with larger sensors. |

Yeah, so unlike SLR cameras, phone cameras often can't give you the DOF nor creamy bokeh despite going with the minimal focusing distance.

QUOTE(andyfriends @ Nov 13 2015, 11:28 PM) If I'm in a rush and there's enough light about, I just swipe to the stock camera from the lock screen. If I have time, I prefer an app like Manual or ProCam 3 that allows a bit more control over ISO and shutter speed, and then I process with Enlight, Pixelmator and some other apps. I don't trust those "live filter" types of apps that show the effect before taking the photo because the end result is usually overprocessed. If you're looking for a free solution, I think the best combo would be the stock camera app + VSCO.This post has been edited by G-17: Nov 14 2015, 09:58 AM |
