If the laptop have an optical drive. You can use a caddy to add in SSD. If not save up and get one  or Hybrid drives

for hybrid drive..

since 8gb cant even install OS on it & not all application able to fit inside it..

i doubt it will give significant performance improvement.

im willing to spend for SSD, but the problem is
if i only can pick either SSD or HDD..
I guess HDD gonna be my choice..

if you can wait.. then go for Hp Specter since. Malaysia i'm not sure. but in Singapore the model already launch with S$1699.00. its i5 series.. the high end, i7 + QHD release still unknown.. maybe Q3 2015.. not sure. SEA market should be on May already available.

that transformer is ok... battery can last long leh.. wifi surfing (heavy surfing) up to 6 hours continuously.. if presentation.. using wifi but not browsing.. + idle condition.. can up to 11-12 hours.. but there is no presentation more than 1 hour   but moving from 1 place to another place without recharging notebook, the notebook perform very well. my friend own 1..

FHD for extra cost.. not worth    nowadays... we have UHD and QHD... FHD getting cheaper.. mostly notebook have HD+ which now kinda cheap..
