Noticed a lack of information on this topic hence ill open a thread on this being a shoe lover.

We should not be fooled by the general misconception that running shoes are suitable for gym. They are not.

Serious lifters know which are the good stuff. So share whats yours, where can we get them and how to keep em clean.

Heres mine:

Inov8 Flite 235

Bought from: Key Power Malaysia

Age:1month

user posted image

Pros: Best lifting shoe I have used thus far. Zero drop, extremely comfy and perfect for squats with the solid heel support

Cons: Gets dirty easily

Under Armour Micro G Elevate

Bought from: Under Armour Tokyo

Age: 4monts

user posted image

Pros: Nice and solid shoe. Stable base for bench pressing and your usual gym workouts

Cons: Too stiff for crossfit type of WOD. Box jumps, cleans etc might not be suitable. Havent really done WODs in them

Your goal, budget all playing their role when you choose your gym shoe.

Even cheap hard flat sole shoe is working perfectly fine. I did own a pair of do-win powerlifting shoe, ~rm150 from china. works fine for me.

should be Vibram Five Fingers

im a runner too..tried lifting in my lunarglides or flyknits..was a total disaster..lol

but what i DO recommend is...u know those minimal shoes eg New Balance Minimus, Nike Free 3.0 etc..those are pretty decent as a running/gym shoe

stay away from cushioned shoes
