Finally getting a new sunglobal battery to replace the 4 yrs old ori battery. Time for a new start before coming cny.

Anyone have experience to downgrade the twrp recovery from 3.2.1 back to 2.8.7. i am now holding back to flash the lineageos 15 due to it need 3.2.1. i am worrying not able to flash back 2.8.7 if finding oreo8 is not stable.

3.2.1 does not support Aroma. So someone pls help.

It's easy bruh... Simply download the TWRP file. Shutdown completely and take out battery briefly (optional). Boot into download mode.. Connect to PC, launch ODIN software.. Flash away. Done!.. Same steps afterwards if you want to flash back the latest TWRP version. Though if you plan on flashing frequently, better leave V2.8.7.0 installed as it's the most friendly with most of the AROMA-based ROM installs out there.
*
Noted bro.

It should.be no problem to flash 3.2.1 thru the img file in recovery.

Just what i worry is back to 2.8.7. it likes no other choice but need to use odin.

Will do some read up in xda before proceed.

Tks for the guide.

I prefer to use ODIN on the PC for such things.. To avoid potential issues. Who knows when one part of the code decides not to play nice cuz it's default tool wasn't used.. Same with shutting down properly and removing the battery for a few secs to cold boot into download mode. Always advised. Just make a backup first using V2.8.7.0 and clean flash the LineageOS ROM. If it's not to your liking, easy rollback.
*
Read thru XDA, flashing LineageOS 15.1 need TWRP 3.2.1.

Flashed with 2.8.7 will have error message. That why need to confirm it can roll back to 2.8.7 for AROMA installation after the upgrade. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Oh my bad.. Checked the dev page and yes it requires latest TWRP version.. It's a non-issue.. You can switch back at will.. I've done it myself.. Fast & painless..

Edit: Always follow the ROM chef's installation methods.. Chef ALWAYS knows best.  nod.gif

good to hear that. will plan for it whenever having spare time. now busying with cny things. sweat.gif sweat.gif

will always follow CHEF methods in order not to go in wrong way. thumbsup.gif

Normally, since day one, I prefer using this cover type... Recently decided to try something new and got this instead. Paired it with this Nillkin tempered glass protector. It's a genuine Nillkin product, verified via official website. Easy to apply and smooth to touch and glide across.. Doesn't show any fingerprints at all and very minimal smudging unlike my previous screen protector. Easily wipes off said smudges too.

Picture taken using cheap smartphone and the image doesn't do it justice. Looks amazing in real life and with custom ROMs, it's as if one got a new device.. Long live the Galaxy Note 3..  notworthy.gif

thanks for the picture. may consider to get one as thinking bumper casing look more better compare to my existing smart cover.

I remember reading that Oreo for the Note 8 has been released and will spread region by region. I expect Malaysia should get it in the next few months.

The Note 3 is my daily driver. Got some cheapo Lenovo to replace my backup Xiaomi device. Got Unifi mobile sims too..tossed em in only to find out he 4G isn't supported.. So limited to 3G..  sweat.gif
*
I am now in the reverse pattern.
Note 3 as my second phone mainly for media and game.

While bought a cheap leagoo m9 for primary but only for phone call and social apps. Limited to 3g only also.

Just dont want to worry phone no juice after using for long time or phone keep on popping out notification when readng, gaming or videoing.

hi guys, do you think Nova 2i is a good replacement for note 3 ?? thinking of buying nova2i for my mom.
*
nova 2i is with 18:9 display which will make videoing much better. but it still subject to how your mum will use that phone.

nova 2i will be better to hold with its smaller width and better camera, but note 3 win at its display and s pen.

if just for normal usage, better keep the note 3 and waiting for others. nova 2i may not be the best choice with its current price tag.

What was that? A different brand? How credible was the brand?
*
It is a local brand with Japan Technology.

I started to use it before CNY 2018 and it provides average of 5hrs SOT. But still subjected to how you use it.

It costs about RM85 with 1 yrs warranty, 3650Mah but without NFC.

bought an ori samsung note 3 battery for my wife at RM149 with 6 months warranty on dec 2017.

there are lot of different so call ORIGINAL battery in the market with cheaper price. so do take note on it.

better stick to samsung store if ori is your choice.

Started to use since last saturday midnight. so far so good.

Since i wiped all before flashed, so the phone now is as smooth as butter. biggrin.gif

The dark theme looks good and it improve the overall phone battery life.

The ROUND icon layout look good as well.

It is the only rom which can select no to install with root. Select it during the aroma.

Phone seldom feel warm.

Still need to take some time to venture the Edge Panel Apps and Always On Display.

The only problem now is the phone will reboot by itself and the frequency is at least 3 time a day.

need to continue check thru XDA for possible root.

I will update the SOT tomorrow.

Let me know also if you have anything need me to test or check.

You are welcome. Sorry to hear about the power button. I think you are the third or so person who has shared this with me. So might be a long term wear and tear item. Which means I'll have to safeguard mine even more..  sweat.gif

Yeah, with the better cameras, much faster charging speeds, fingerprint sensors, even more gorgeous screens, etc.. Sometimes I do look at my Note 3 and think it's time. But then, I remember all the good times and how it's still chugging along.. I forget about upgrading it.. Matter of fact, I just bought a new SunGlobal battery off Lazada.. Gonna keep till current stock battery dies way too quickly.  laugh.gif

Ha Ha, most of us are in the same boat. I will going to change my phone casing by this week since new Sunglobal already in the phone since CNY this year. rclxms.gif

There are still lot of new update from XDA, so this phone will stick with me until this year end before really look for new phone. flex.gif

May consider to buy a refurbished Iphone 5S to try the new IOS 12. mega_shok.gif hmm.gif

Aspire Rom S9 V10 for Note 3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnQ2giUT-oM

Download link (~1.9G)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/190hvdQyFoy...pES3Ynnj8V/view

Found this rom in the morning and already flashed to my phone.

Basically, it is a rom from phonehive with S9 applications installed.

Some major things as below.

Good
@ Running Android Nougat
@ Live Message is working at Note 3

Bad
@ Still with lot of bugs

Overall it is a good start of Touchwiz Nougat rom which available for Note 3.

Will give it a try for more days.
