Check out this video I found on the web. Pretty cool that we have so many option of food in Malaysia but not a lot of people tried out the diversity of it...

I have this observation...most Malay don't eat natural taste food...everything eithre goreng kaw-kaw, kari kau-kaw, kicap kaw-kaw, chilli kaw-kaw.

You see the malay lady cook the dish for you at food court...ex...the yee mee in hot work with chicken mushroom...taroh the oyster sauce like no need money to buy wan.

Chinese food got lighter and more refine taste in certain dishes ..like Steam Fish, steam chicken, lighlty fried vege etc.

Btw, this is not racist statement. it is simply different taste bud.

Chinese needs fresh ingredient and cook the food to the right temperature and the best chinese food brings out the true flavour in the fish/meat/dish etc. Not depends on the sauce. drool.gif

It's like kungfu...subtle, strong, fast, slow...everything needs perfect timing.

Kecoh gila dengan ba alif ba ya dia tu. Kalau dah batak sangat dengan menatang tu, asal tak breakfast, lunch n dinner lauk tu je. Ini tak cari jugak menu lain. Pasal nak tunjuk konon-kononnya sedap sanggup jadi hipokrit. Kalau dah level ketagih sangat boleh lah try juice berperisa lemak binatang tu.

Kat dunia ni macam-macam makanan ada, semua ada keunikan masing-masing. Berlambak lagi resepi yg sedap and sihat tapi tak perlu masuk binatang tu. Sedih sial kalau hidup tersangkut untuk makan menu daripada satu jenis binatang je. Hilang nikmat dunia.

I wouldn't say they are ignorant.

For me, growing up in a predominantly Chinese community, I'm pretty sheltered and did not try much Indian & Malay food until I have made some Indian and Malay friends and they introduced me to their awesome food. I guess we just gotta keep an open mind to different type of stuff people make from other parts of the world and other races. But yea...! Funny how Malaysia is so diverse yet there isn't a lot of cross culture immersion...

Agreed. Best Chinese dishes are simple.

Fish steam with soy sauce. The fish fresh and steaming hot with just soy sauce omg

Fried vege with just garlic. Awesome as well coz the skill is the vege need fry with super hot wok. Cook fast and hot.

Its authentic Hui Muslim cuisine. Its part of the culinary history and culture of China but its not exactly traditional Chinese cuisine.

Its not just about pork. Its not like Hui cuisine even features frog. Kung pai frog is far more popular than kung pao chicken among the Chinese community.

Hui cuisine is basically Chinese cuisine adapted to suit Muslim dietary limitations with the addition of more spices due to the area having been a prominent part of the Silk Road.

Yep...wok needs to be hot and you need strength and speed to quickly fry it without getting burnt and cooked just nice without overdone.

Steam me like. Particularly one with some herbs. Mostly fish and dim sum though as me geli to eat steam chicken with head, x halal.

Porridge like tauchu Porridge ke? Used to eat at raja Chulan. Now closed. Have to go jb to eat. Kinda cheap lah food in jb. Ikan bakar pon murah.

Chinese soup mostly got disgusting things like kura kura, babi. Would only eat it in a hotel.

Tak paham asal benci sayur? I usually must have sayur on every meal.

Makanan melayu the taste is heavier. More spicy, more salty, more sweet, more rempah.
That's why those like char Koay teow or goreng stuff are favourite.

Then after u eat those too much your tongue and brain won't get trigged so much as it used to.

Really wadd....last time I only eat goreng stuff, after u cut down on those heavy taste things u can even taste sweetness in cucumber.

It's like whatever u eat lack of taste because you use to heavy seasoning of things like salt, spices and sugar

It's a pity really that despite living in a multi-faceted culture of a society for so long but there are still many who dont or heck refuse to embrace and relish the diversity that is well available and present.
