NX will be a handheld. No one expects handhelds to have a long shelf life, another reason why Nintendo released NN3DS XL, which has a minor spec upgrade and 2DS, a downgrade from the 3DS.
WiiU will stay in the market until every home in Japan has 4k TV sets.

one of the comments say it could be a device designed for emerging markets like China and others.
I supposed Malaysia would be getting official launch at least for NX this time.
So....not a WIIU replacement? But rebranded WIIU for emerging markets? Doesn't makes sense to make a new console for these market...it should be able to play existing library games. Auto-winrar.
Pray for region free NX. This thing would probably take another 2-3 years to be released. So I guess it could be replacing the Wii U entirely. But I really hope it's something else though. Jangan.. Nintendo mobile phone sudahlah..
Like what a lot of people mention, this is achievable but it will totally kill N3DS. Better looking, smaller, and able to link to tv monitor to play 3DS game, who will buy N3DS?
The exact shape of the NX hardware isn’t yet clear. People familiar with the development plans said Nintendo would likely include both a console and at least one mobile unit that could either be used in conjunction with the console or taken on the road for separate use. They also said Nintendo would aim to put industry-leading chips in the NX devices, after criticism that the Wii U’s capabilities didn’t match those of competitors.
Finally can take a break from the unOfficial old thread full of hate and bash hahaha .... Question, game will have region lock meh? I though USA player can splatoon Japanese player in multiplayer?
