7100 is semi pro d, both can do wedding shot with proper equipment like lens and flashbang flash gun and SKILLZ

i use auto all the time, some people like manual. kit lens normally is auto focus, you can adjust it manually even it is auto on....

i never hear of that.... unless you are talking about screw type AF... but newer one i don't think will break la...

but then i also never turn that focus ring often XD only touch zoom ring

i use professional model and one of the holy trinity lens of nikon but i never get photography related job also i'm noob for this. but i shoot RAW because i know i sucks in catching light , lucky my job related skill i still able to use photoshop "safe" some photos to normal status from under exposure/over exposure....

5k series will do i think.
since it is beginner range camera, so i think easy to operate.

need others recommend for more accuracy.

best possible go to times square nikon center there test holding for 5k series first.

because you mentioned many non-professional will use that. actually 5k series is very light and small body, someone with big hand will not like that XD

lens i think kit lens good enough la (for beginner)
you might need get 1-2 spare batteries if really do for event. or maybe buy another body i duno la how many people in charge in photograph for 1 event.
