new article on malaysian defence..below are few important points from the article
-At the same time, the staff officer also revealed the service procurement plans, three MRSS, four light frigates, six ASW helicopters, a single hydro-graphic ship and six gun-armed FACs.
-for the procurement plans, I believed the ASW helicopters and hydrographic ship are a shoe-in for RMK11 while the light frigates looked unreachable unless they turned it into another order for the LCS.
-What about the MRSS and FACs then? I believe it will be funded not due to RMN’s requirements but mainly for political reasons.

wonder how much would actually be funded under RMK 11..and what happen to the DSME corvettes? hmm.gif
- easy loh, that DSME ship can be light frigates as requested, and DMSE shipis corvetter means light frigate in other meaning. 4-6 unit also can
- Six ASW hellis already know 2 year ago, mostly selected form AW159/MH-60R seahawk/NH90 ASW.
- hydro-graphic ship easy can get not so expensive, depend how deep sea flow want to scan. if like our water 500 meter hydro-graphic ship also enough.
- MRSS already many option, got value/expensive. all MRSS operation cost need to consider. i prefer Damen Enforcer 10000 or 11000.
- six gun-armed FAC i think BNS should design and built it.
