Gotta get it charged when I get back to the office, as I'm with a colleague having lunch appointment and didn't bring my power bank!

QUOTE(attw @ Mar 19 2015, 07:20 PM) At least you lasted four years in Android. I only managed to survive a year. Then again maybe my experience would have been different if I was on a Nexus instead of a Sam... Four years with Android? Not bad, as I also lasted only a year but switched between TWO Samsung phones before ditching the last one for an iPhone 5! |

QUOTE(Connect2USales @ Mar 20 2015, 03:12 PM) did u install any new apps or update any apps? your usage increases? cos 7 - 9 hours doesnt make much difference to me.. Hmmm, I think mine is due to playing too much Football Manager, as that's one heck of a battery-eater, as well as heavy usage of LTE-based apps like Safari, Google+, WhatsApp, and Facebook! n i noticed your signal coverage not full... you got noticed any increase of the changes of your band? from LTE to 3G vice versa? low signal will also increase battery use... But I suspect that this issue with the battery has something to do with the new iOS 8.2 as well, as I don't recall my battery falling that fast! QUOTE(attw @ Mar 20 2015, 04:04 PM) My only experience was with a Note 3 although I did briefly flirted with an S3 mini and an Ace 2 LTE as backup devices , both of which were useless. Well, I used a Samsung Galaxy Wonder before switching to the S Advance. Didn't really like using Android firmware though, as I had an iPod touch at the same time and preferred the one from Apple! The Note 3 served me well except for mysterious battery drain issues and abnormal heating up few times. In the end, I dropped the S Advance due to poor battery life, considering I only used it for making phone calls, sending text messages via WhatsApp, and the occasional Google Maps. As well as preferring a convergent device using iOS, which is why I went for the iPhone 5, back in early 2014! This post has been edited by THTgadgets.com: Mar 20 2015, 05:14 PM |

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Mar 30 2015, 09:12 PM) Apple is one of the selected pilot company to introduce new SLP (Self-Labelling Program). Which means SIRIM no longer provides the stickers. The company will have to self print their own SIRIM label. Refer to the picture below. I received such a sticker from the courier guys appointed by Apple, when I bought my iPhone 6 in December. Can't really remember how it looks but that sticker does seem similar to the one posted here! But then I am not sure if Apple already started introducing the new label. In any case, there should also be a MCMC label printed in the box or at least the e-Labelling under the legal or regulatory of the iOS. [attachmentid=4392413] |

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Mar 31 2015, 09:14 AM) Cuz iphone sales are going down ..... 2.7k is consider high , some users are selling their telco units as low as 2.6k since demand went down a lot . And as for directd , satu gadget , gadgetjunction , they sell both ap and local unit so have to ask or else their "low" price will get you AP units , most likely from HK What about telcos? While I know the off-the-rack price is indeed pricey, people still have the option of signing up for a two year contract with the four players offering the iPhone (DiGi, Maxis, Celcom, U Mobile) and voila, they can get their prized gadgets without burning an immediate hole in their pockets! Of course, there's also the 12-month installment payment for those who don't want to be tied-down with telcos and prefer to buy the phone on-the-spot! |

QUOTE(attw @ Mar 31 2015, 02:07 PM) For me personally, I would never consider a phone above RM3,000 off the rack. Just sounds painful. Yup, and resulting in a slower-moving technology sector at least for the next six months as forecasted by PIKOM (especially among the big corporate buyers, who usually make bulk purchases), until things stabilize, no thanks to the GST! Anyways, few more hours to go before you add another 6% to the phone prices This post has been edited by THTgadgets.com: Mar 31 2015, 03:03 PM |

QUOTE(attw @ Mar 31 2015, 04:23 PM) If our currency wasn't so weak perhaps can now consider buying gadgets overseas - can get GST refund as tourist. Sad case for the RM... Sigh... Sorry to bring in politics here but don't we have an idiot like Chua Tee Yong as Deputy Finance Minister? He certainly does not know what to do with our weak $$$, unlike a more brilliant strategist like Tun M! And since today's GST Day, I want to just pay a visit to Digital Mall and Jaya SC (both are very near my office) and see how the crowd is, when it comes to buying IT stuff, especially the two Apple Resellers in the area - [i] Store and Mac Studio Live. I won't be surprised to see fewer people for the coming days, as the effects of GST implementation bites hard! |

QUOTE(attw @ Apr 1 2015, 08:56 AM) Yes, that's what I'm doing nowadays. I prefer to wait and see whether the phones of those who installed the new updates are negatively affected, before deciding to follow suit. Of course, if the initial release gives a ton of problems (not surprising, by the way), I'll just delay the installation and wait for firmware updates instead! QUOTE(Dannyl @ Apr 1 2015, 08:07 AM) I would like to ask something about all these 'taken with iPhone 6' billboards I see. How can an 8MP image be blown up into full billboard size without loss of quality? They were edited? Most likely, although this is how this iPhone 6-taken photo of the Big Three towers in Shanghai look, when I was there on holiday last week. The image quality's still good actually, when blown up in a PC monitor, but I also wonder how they actually magnified the photo on to a big billboard, without noticeable pixelation (even my photo is a bit grainy here)! ![]() This post has been edited by THTgadgets.com: Apr 1 2015, 10:20 AM |

But this one takes the cake - it's surprisingly crisp and clear, considering that's also an iPhone 6-taken photo of the Big Three from ground level!
By the way, for this Shanghai trip, I didn't take my regular digital camera and used only the iPhone to take photos. And the results were better than expected, to be honest! ![]() This post has been edited by THTgadgets.com: Apr 1 2015, 10:26 AM |

QUOTE(attw @ Apr 1 2015, 10:21 AM) Anyway, I've calculated. Even at the exchange rate of 2.7, it is now officially cheaper to get your iGadget from Singapore So our friends in JB are lucky, since they can just cross the Causeway or Second Link to get their Apple stuff, resulting in Machines, Switch, etc. losing sales to the Resellers in the Lion City! Whilst us here have to purposely make a holiday or business trip to SG just to get ours, haha! |

QUOTE(attw @ Apr 1 2015, 10:20 AM) My worst experiences was installing iOS 7 on my previous iPhone 4 and my kid's iPad 2. Never seen any Apple product lagged so badly before then, he he he... Lag is one of the worst things that any new update can do to our phones, but another irritating thing is the poorer battery life, especially in certain versions of iOS 8! QUOTE(attw @ Apr 1 2015, 10:25 AM) I know right? So the iPhone 6 indeed has one of the best cameras of any smartphone today! What a HUGE difference, compared with the camera of the iPhone 5S, what more my ageing iPod touch 5! This post has been edited by THTgadgets.com: Apr 1 2015, 10:29 AM |

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Apr 1 2015, 10:13 AM) Yup, probably those rich businesspeople, CEOs of multinational firms, or Sunway / Monash university students (haha!) can still buy their Apple stuff without blinking an eye! Unlike the rest of the general Malaysian public, who will see a BIG hole in their pockets when deciding to buy ANY smartphone from today onwards! |

By the way, I want to create a new thread for iPhone 6 photography. Or has such a thread been opened previously and is currently dormant?
